I also considered Trump the great hope for reform in 2016. Of course, I am a dreamer and no doubt we are being played with cultural wars and false dichotomies as James says, by the establishment dividing us and deflecting our attention from their crimes. Yet, although a groomed and carefully selected showman, Trump did very much go against the establishment grain, or perhaps I should say, against one faction of the establishment which is the globalist and socialists one. Being deceived, threatened, and herded about like cattle is not what we were made for, and on that issue alone those we call the establishment are likely quite divided.
James is very much on the libertarian and anarchy side of the equation like Jeff Berwick, yet for all of their insight and wisdom, they often do oversimplify things. Also, they offer no real solution to our problems in the way of how to go about establishing better government. We know that our democratic systems have been totally corrupted by the money power, but we do not know how to change it except with our baby steps in exposing the corruption and abuses of power everywhere. So, we know very clearly what is wrong, but we neither know how to get a hold of the levers of power to change things, and even if we did, we seem incapable of offering a replacement system, or any realistic system to run things better.
I would hope all truthers would start out by listing the wrongs they want to irradicate in some kind of manifesto or declaration of independence and responsibility, and that they would hang in effigy all wrong doers in massive protests, but also propose ways to rectify all of the abuses of the power elites who rule through the money weapon, stealth, brainwashing, massive deceptions and terrorizing the people. Both Corbett and Berwick are on the decentralization and individual-freedom side of the equation, and they oppose all of manipulative, deceitful, exploited, corrupting, and control-freak centralizing methods of the actual powers running our nations. They are a window of light and fresh air coming into our darkness and foul political atmosphere and they do enable us to see the real problems. Yet, until they start offering real solutions to effect change, the people will continue to put all of their hopes for freedom, sanity and reform into our thoroughly corrupted electoral systems.
Trump did not deliver on most of his promises because he never really had the power, and perhaps merely as just a showman, he had no real intention of doing so. It may be that there is only one main pyramid of power running the US and the rest of the world, but even if so, things are always shifting around and the public once organized can effect change. Until there is a Declaration and a realistic new vision of how we want things to be, people will simply continue to participate in the corrupt democratic processes protecting their constitutional rights as much as possible and making changes only on a few secondary issues, like with Trump. The best thing anyone can do with continued efforts of the people like Corbett and those who host this site, is to network, organize and support political movements for truth, freedom and justice, for the replacement or reform of all power structures and levels of government. Otherwise, we will all end up as dumbed-down, vaccinated and neutered sheeple.

Great comment as usual, you say “hey offer no real solution to our problems in the way of how to go about establishing better government.”
The problem is government, Jeff Berwick is anarchist or libertarian, thus believes in a small or no government. But government is big and it keeps growing and making more and more demands. The solution can not be found in government, because as Ayn Rand says, government has a monopoly on the use of force – against legally disarmed citizens. The government can barge into your home and shoot you, but you can not barge into the capitol and shoot them.
So what to do? No one can solve this problem, the rise and fall of the state follows the long wave, thus we can expect decades of repression, thus the only sane solution is to move to a location of less statism, like Mexico where Berwick lives.
The situation right now in the insane police states of the Amerika is grim, and leaving the country is a sane moral solution to an intractable problem. The situation for moral rational thinking adults in the USSA is akin to Jewish people when the Nazis came to power, the smart ones left early.
Amerika is most certainly setup to become a great bloodbath. Leaving the Jewish infested states of Amerika early is a sane solution to an insolvable problem.
To vote is to consent to the treason and usurpation of your Constitutional amendments and your Bill of Rights. Anyone still voting is complicit in the ongoing crimes of this criminal, occupying force, period – which is STILL illegally operating under the War Powers Act.
