Rioters looted stores, set fires and clashed with police in several Dutch cities on Sunday, resulting in more than 240 arrests, police and Dutch media reported.
The unrest came on the second day of new, tougher coronavirus restrictions, including a night curfew, which had prompted demonstrations.
Police used water cannon, dogs and mounted officers to disperse a protest in central Amsterdam on Sunday afternoon, witnesses said. Nearly 200 people, some of them throwing stones and fireworks, were detained in the city, police said.
National broadcaster NOS said riot police had been deployed in at least 10 cities and towns after a curfew went into effect at 9 p.m. (2000 GMT). Vehicles were set alight, police were pelted with stones and public property was destroyed, it reported.
Military police said on Twitter on Sunday night that they were supporting local police in at least two cities in the south.
Images on Dutch television showed bands of youths looting shops, throwing bicycles and setting fires in the southern city of Eindhoven. At least 55 people were arrested in Eindhoven, the city said in a statement.
The demonstration in the city’s Museum Square, which violated a ban on public gatherings, came the day after the government introduced a nightly curfew for the first time since World War Two.
Police cleared the square after people ignored instructions to leave and detained those who attacked them with stones and fireworks in nearby streets, the mayor’s office said.
Parliament voted narrowly last week to approve the curfew, swayed by assertions that a variant of COVID-19 first identified in Britain was about to cause a new surge in cases. New infections in the country have generally been declining for a month, and fell again on Sunday, to 4,924 new cases.
There have been 13,540 deaths in the Netherlands from COVID-19 and 944,000 infections.
On Saturday night, police had arrested 25 people across the country and handed out 3,600 fines for curfew violations.
Schools and non-essential shops in the Netherlands have been shut since mid-December, following the closure of bars and restaurants two months earlier.
The oldest trick in the book. Infiltrate demonstrations with undercover thugs, “cops?”, in hoodies. Start fires wreck a few shops, in full view of the media, then hey presto, you have public’s approval to bring in the big guns. Works like a charm every time, though video proof of it soon disappears.
It’ll be deeply ironic if we end up relying upon the disaffected in society to save us from totalitarianism. All the people in society typically dismissed as feckless, wastrels, workshy, welfare queens etc. If there is an uprising it’s in the backstreets where it will begin, then become organised and go national. It won’t start in the leafy suburbs or comfy residential streets, however much the people there mistrust the vaccines or have loved ones damaged by them. They’ll put their hopes in the courts and get nowhere.
Backstreet society is tribal, more so than football thugs, and when any of the tribe get injured, particularly a respected member, tensions will explode and the tribes will react as if at war with the state.
Holland is a joke before or after Covid. All Western Europe is.
The Dutch have had it with corrupt Mayors complying with the Criminal Cabal. They are getting more and more aware of their scams. In 2008 one of the former Mayors in Amsterdam was relieved of his duties(.) because of his corruptions but the City failed to inform the Public. But hey, why would they inform them that they relieved him of his duties because 86 children were raped for years in a day care center in a highly organised crime with his involvement?

Really these protests are a joke.
Why?
“Because they show how the people feel….blah…blah…” is what most people would say. Well, how do most people feel about this BS? Guaranteed, there are many who don’t like being under house arrest. I understand that, but you can bet your bottom dollar that the people causing the damage will most certainly be people who simply want to smash things up. I’m not saying there aren’t police agent provocateurs, but really, people who protest are just stupid.
Protesting solves nothing.
What does protesting do, especially now it’s illegal (ROTFLMFAO! Yes, you have to ask permission, to the people you want to protest against, to have a protest. You can’t make this sh*t up)? Protesting does nothing other than allow the police to go steaming in heavy handed, beat people up and say the people resisted arrest and shoot people, then lie saying they were under threat of attack. And because the judiciary and the filth are joined at the hip and of course TPTB need the police as their enforcers, then the police get off Scot free of all charges.
If people would just think (now there’s something that is never done) and actually try to grasp the situation at hand and what to do, they and society would be so much better off. Protesting will not get the government to change their mind.
Protesting really, is like a game of American football. There are two teams who meet at a desired location the game starts, just one side is armed and the other side isn’t. Easy to know what the outcome is going to be.
When you protest, you’re just asking to get arrested, thrown into a cell and either fined there and then or later on in court with a possible custodial sentence.
Think what needs to be done, with society, to stop the police from behaving as they do and the government also. I’m not going into detail, but let’s just say you won’t be playing by the Queensbury rules.
The police and the government are your enemy. You are at war with them and need to accept that first before you can move on. If you don’t, well, just stay at home and watch TV.
The WHO just came out and said most of the positives cases were in fact false but this will not affect the Covid cult. It is now a religion and it’s pope is Fauci. Incredible!
