Spain will create a registry of people who refuse Covid-19 vaccines and share it with other European Union nations, the country’s health minister has said.
Salvador Illa insisted that the list would still uphold data protection laws and would not be made accessible to the public or to employers.
Speaking to local news outlet, La Sexta television on Monday, the minister said the way to defeat the virus was “to vaccinate all of us – the more the better”.
It comes after it was announced on Monday that the number of people in Spain who have died from the virus has gone above the 50,000 mark.
The country has now seen more than 1.8 million infections during the pandemic.
It is currently rolling out the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine which was approved for use in 27 EU member states last week.
But in the interview with La Sexta, Mr Illa added that vaccination would not be mandatory.
“What will be done is a registry, which will be shared with our European partners… of those people who have been offered it and have simply rejected it,” he said.
“It is not a document which will be made public and it will be done with the utmost respect for data protection.”
He added: “People who are offered a therapy that they refuse for any reason, it will be noted in the register… that there is no error in the system, not to have given this person the possibility of being vaccinated.”
According to a recent poll, the number of Spanish citizens who have said they will not take the vaccine has fallen to 28 per cent from 47 per cent in November.
In other comments on Monday, Mr Illa said people would be contacted by regional authorities when it was their turn to be inoculated.
“People who decide not to get vaccinated, which we think is a mistake, are within their rights,” he told reporters. “We are going to try to solve doubts. Getting vaccinated saves lives, it is the way out of this pandemic.”
As a result of the rise in cases, Spain is under a nationwide curfew, between 11pm and 6am, until early May. In many places, people are only allowed out in that period to go to work, buy medicine, or to care for elderly people or children.
I live in Spain. There are still MORONS driving alone in cars wearing a mask ! The amount of moronic mask nazis in the streets and supermarkets is truly astonishing. SHEEPLE ! The lack of self analysis , common sense and downright plain stupidity is frightening – which of course is what these criminal politicians and “health ministers” play on.
I can look from my 4th floor balcony any morning of the week and the fires burning and smoke shrouded landscape is unbelievable. It´s a fruit growing area and they burn the cuttings from the trees – GREEN – nothing is left to dry out and die back. Of course this is taken advantage of by those who have toxic rubbish to get rid of – they light a fire too and take advantage of all the smoke that´s already up there ! But hey , that´s ok , that´s not a health issue – but don´t you dare go out without a mask on because cv19 is going to kill you. And the morons still believe them ?!!
We truly are lost if people don´t start asking questions . It´s a problem here not to wear a mask as the fines for not wearing one are really stringent . You know , you can smoke and kill yourself , that´s your choice – but you have no choice regarding the fake pandemic and the lies and bullshit.
There is no lower form of human life that a politician !!
Just because the authorities are winning it doesn’t mean they’ll win, and if/when we win then being on one of these lists will be a badge of honour, proof we weren’t amongst the duped or those too afraid to say no. And if we lose it will still be a badge of honour.
If we win then those people not on these lists who did take the vaccine will likely face risks over what they allowed to be pumped into their bodies. While not all will be hypochondriacs many will be because they were afraid of a fake virus harming them, so in time, assuming we get back to some level of normality, they’ll be visiting their doctors regularly for check-ups and reassurances they’re not going to die.
Interesting, all it will take is one little country to say “vaccines are not mandatory here” ” it is against our human rights” and they will become the richest country in the world. Imagine how many billionaires will sent their children to a vaccine by choice country.
