To Fred B–it takes about three times longer to read a text that is full of errors than it takes with a clean one. I could do it but I am left too angry with the writer, who thinks all the readers are not worth a minute of the time that would be needed for a correction exercise. I sit thinking about what order the letters, words and thoughts would have taken in that elusive dream world we call literacy, but I am encouraged by the thought that muddled thinking is exposed by muddled expression.
