Making people machine-like in the 1890s has a lot more to do with the banks needing economic consciousness in the people than with Prussians imposing military consciousness in them. This is a far more trivial problem and may even contain some of the solution.

As a Bavarian, I can say say we all hate the effing Prussian saggy-asses up in Berlin.
The human, though not a robot, is very inclined to behave like one.

We make heroic romance out of the Spartans, whose culture was military like that of the Prussians. No-one can make heroic romance out of today’s hedonistic culture, where “music” is often the grunts and squeals of Black pimps or White prostitutes. Meanwhile, the banker mentality was already satirised by Dickens as Gradgrind in one of his novels. Prussia treated the trap of the Jew Revolutions with the right level of contempt.
