All very well, but none of this will work after a CME. We have a 25% chance of being hit by a CME over the current (just started) solar cycle. The effects of a CME strike will be exacerbated by the fact that Earth’s magnetic field has fallen by 25%, so we have much less protection.
In around 30yrs, probably less, the magnetic poles will flip and the the Sun will micronova. So a CME is a localised surface eruption on the Sun. A micronova is where the Sun sheds an outer layer, so you can’t avoid it.
