A disgraced former Portuguese police officer has branded the new Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner a ‘scapegoat.’
Goncalo Amaral described the 43-year-old German as an ‘almost perfect suspect.’
Amaral, who first claimed last April a German paedophile who was in prison would be accused over Maddie’s disappearance, told a Portuguese TV interviewer on Sunday night: ‘When I spoke last year I was talking about the situation that’s happening now.
‘It matters little who the paedophile is.’
He added: ‘He’s an almost perfect suspect. All that’s lacking for him to become the perfect suspect is that he’s dead.’
Asked if he believed Brueckner was the man responsible for Madeleine’s disappearance, he added: ‘To answer that question it has to be proven first that an abduction took place.’
The ex-cop, who claimed in a 2008 controversial book Madeleine’s parents had covered up their daughter’s accidental death in their Algarve apartment, went on to repeat his well-known criticism of the British youngster’s parents and their Tapas Seven holiday friends.
He accused them of abandoning their children to eat out at night and lying to Portuguese police, and said Madeleine had been left crying for around an hour the night before she vanished on May 3 2007.
The McCanns began a lengthy legal battle against Amaral in 2008, suing him for defamation after the publication of his book The Truth of The Lie.
But during his half-hour-long interview with Portuguese broadcaster TVI on Sunday, he also accused the authorities of altering photos of the two-tone VW camper van Brueckner was using around the time Madeleine disappeared.
The former PJ chief, who was removed as head of the Madeleine McCann inquiry in 2008 after criticising British police officers, showed interviewer Jose Alberto Carvalho photos he said were taken in Portugal of the same vehicle.
One of the photos he produced showed a series of very distinctive Minion-style characters painted on the front and back of the camper van, which in the picture put out by police had no markings on it.
He said: ‘It’s the same vehicle flagged up in the police appeal.
‘I think it’s important to ask why the photo put out by the authorities of the van was altered. Would that vehicle have gone unnoticed in Praia da Luz with those markings on it? I don’t think so.’
Suggesting the van could have looked very different in 2007 to the way it appeared in the photo put out by British police, he added: ‘Is it that the German authorities reached the conclusion that the van wasn’t like that when it was being driven in Praia da Luz in 2007? Who said that?
Pressed on what Portuguese police knew about Brueckner’s past around the time Madeleine disappeared, he appeared to admit Algarve authorities were aware of his 1994 teenage sexual conviction for molesting a six-year-old girl by confessing: ‘At the time all we knew was that this man was a paedophile.’
He also claimed German authorities wanted to re-examine all the DNA evidence taken from the McCanns’ hire car and holiday apartment.
Rubbishing reports a saliva sample had been found on Madeleine’s bedspread and could prove key to a conviction now Brueckner had been identified as a new suspect, he said it had been proven it belonged to a baby being fed mother’s milk staying in the apartment before the McCanns arrived.
Asked why he thought the German authorities might have interest in coming up with new information which had no real value, Amaral claimed: ‘Because it enables them to have jurisdiction over this case.
‘I think the Portuguese police and the authorities can do anything here in laboratories that they can do in Germany. ‘
Amaral’s interview was his first since Brueckner’s name was made public – and the first time he has spoken about the case since last December when he appeared on Spanish TV.

Three times this piece discredits Amaral…even calling him ‘disgraced’.
It never mentions that he eventually won the case that the McCanns brought against him.

Yep, Hall is a great investigator. Of course, they need a scapegoat. Hall suggests the McCann’s were intel assets and I will add, both parents are paedophiles. The question I ask about the German’s willingness to help the UK deep state wrap up this major problem, what is the UK regime offering the Germans for their help? Do/did elite Germans visit Praia da Luz?
One of the reasons Western nations stopped using the death penalty for child kidnapping was that it only motivated the kidnappers to kill the child despite receiving any ransom. The kidnappings these days are mostly of a different sort and tied to child trafficking which the children are abused and likely killed in blood rituals anyway. If we had clean police forces and if we could rely on a little diligence, probably tens of thousands of these perps could be rounded up, including abusers at the user end of the operations, no matter how high they are in stature, then given quick trials and publicly executed to demonstrate public revulsion and as a deterrent. Cops who are corrupt also should get the same treatment. Nothing else will work.

Pierre : Jerry and Kate McCann are paedophiles. The most likely explanation is that Maddy was sedated for whatever reason and she died. The McCann’s problem was an autopsy because Maddy had been subjected to abuse and this would be discovered and the use of a sedative. Maddy probably died a couple of days before the staged disappearance. The cadaver dog detected recent, but days old death on Kate’s clothes, behind the sofa and in the boot of the hire car.
The last photo of Maddy was taken two days before her announced disappearance. Strange that there are not photos of Maddy between this last know photo and her disappearance. Very strange to go for two days without taking a picture of your child on holiday. None of the other guests in this holiday party took photos of Maddy in this two day period.
The UK deep state sent someone to Portugal in order to manage the Portuguese police and fake news media… why?
Plenty of elite paedophiles visit this area of Portugal and the McCann’s are known to have met some of them, like Clement Freud, just days before Maddy was reported missing.

When I was on Twatter, I called the McCann’s paedophiles more times than I can remember. The McCann’s previous trip to the same holiday complex has a female member of the McCann’s holiday party who made a statement that she heard Jerry McCann and another male member of the party, talking about Maddy in a sexual way. Plenty of people know this, including the Met Police and deep state who are protecting the McCann’s. There is absolutely no chance that I am going to be dragged into court for this. This female witness was so horrified by the implications of this conversation that she didn’t go on the year Maddy (so say) disappeared.
Yes. Richard Hall has come closer to the truth than any other English speaking person. Madeleine died in their holiday apartment. There is a wealth of evidence. The dogs sent in to indicate blood and death, pretty much nailed it for me.
The biggest mystery is why the parents didn’t come clean and more so why the British establishment is covering up for them. High level paedophilia seems to be the only reason why the law is being obstructed. The Portuguese detective in charge of the case, before political pressure removed him, knew the child had died in the apartment.
Question: Who goes to another country on holidays and leaves there precious little girl alone whilst dining out!?.The Mccannes. This runs deep. I never trusted these parents from the first glance. Something creepy. However as I said this runs deep into the Pitts of Hell where our children are being stolen in a satanic world of Satanism, Ritual. Slavery just typing these words I find hard to believe. Where are we…GOD?
