A New Experience
I’m 73 years old and have gone through a lot of shit in my day, but this is like the dystopia I have been warning people was coming for the last 45 years.
I live out in the county on about 15 acres of partially cleared woodland. I find little reason to have to go anywhere as this place keeps me busy most of the time.
Yesterday, my 23 year old grandson, who lives with me, felt we needed to go into town to replenish some food supplies, so we did.
At the Wal-Mart grocery store in Radcliff, we were met by an aggressive, chunky female with a walkie-talkie who would not allow us both in the store at the same time as: new rule from the idiot governor of Kentucky, “Only one member of the same household may shop in the store.” This is for real.
If we hadn’t either separated with one of us waiting outside while the other shopped, or backed off and left, which is what we did, this minimum wage Harpey would have called the police. Normally she would be restocking shelves or some other mundane chore, but now she has authority.
At Sam’s Club in Elizabethtown there wasn’t so much aggressiveness, but it was being patrolled by a cop lathered in way too much after shave, or something. Armed and very unfriendly.
We decided to just leave and tell Wal-Mart to f–k off and go to Aldi’s. We didn’t need too much.
The last time I had been out it was stupid enough with shopping carts nose down, 6 ft apart linked by yellow crime scene tape with little paper signs telling us to practice social distancing, but this ‘in-your-face’ approach was brand new. Normal people with normal day-to-day jobs, now infused with faux authority.
At Aldi’s the message was a little different. “The Governor has ordered that every person entering must have a shopping cart or you can’t go in.” Again, an aggressive female, slimmer and cuter than the one at Wal-Mart but none-the-less as pugilistic. Again, with a walkie-talkie.
As we were preparing to leave Aldi’s, my grandson took his basket out and gave it to the waiting worker to spray down and then came back in to help me. While we were placing the groceries from my basket (no sense in using two baskets for some milk and sandwich meats) into one of the empty boxes provided, I was startled by some Amazonian female demanding to know whether we both had baskets when we came in. I was pissed, but I told her we had and turned back to finish so we could leave. She demanded to know where the other basket was, so I told her we had taken it out as it was empty, and she stared at me and then slightly nodded. I should have left it alone, but I was really pissed. I’m a crotchety old man, retired from the Army and I don’t do well with unwarranted confrontation. I don’t back away, sadly.
I asked her what she would have done if we had not had two baskets but had gone all through the store, unconfronted until now. “Would you call the police on us?”
She was taken aback and replied, “You’re going to go there?”
To which I told her, “You took me there. I wasn’t bothering anyone.”
She left me alone as we finished and left but another woman with a walkie-talkie (I guess, these days they are referred to as 2-way radios) followed us at a distance, outside. I think I got lucky as my truck has a Purple Heart Veteran plate, and I have noticed that people are conditioned to defer a little to wounded veterans. Don’t know why, but I think it helped us prevent a head-on with the police state.
My problem is not so much the aggressiveness and power wielding of people who, though very low tier workers, would normally be decent neighbors, but more with an idiot governor who issues orders that people from the same household cannot enter a store, or at some stores, may enter if both or all have a shopping cart.
Where in the hell is the sense of this stupidity?!
Protesting is not only understandable, but before violence erupts, necessary.
If you actually believe this is a real pandemic and not a conditioning exercise then you are a total moron.

Once again, the police are not doing their job!
The police should be arresting all of these ingrates.
They don’t even maintain the required 6 feet worth of social distancing.
These malcontents have no respect for authority.
This is appalling and has to stop NOW.

“Nous devons nous réveiller et sortir de l’hypnose collective de la peur Quelques ploutocrates veulent diminuer la population mondiale et imposer des vaccins obligatoires à tous en plus de nous contrôler par l’intelligence artificielle couplée à la 5G les virus ne sont pas ennemis mais des alliés et notre corps est des millions de fois plus intelligent que tous ces marchands de peur qui vous disent” Seuls nos médicaments chimiques et nos vaccins peuvent vous sauver !”
I hope more protests will quickly spread throughout the country because I think there is something terribly wrong with this coronavirus pandemic picture.
