According to reports Boris Johnson seems to have been voted back into ten Downing Street. Although the extent of the conservative victory still remains to be confirmed some early reports are talking of a “landslide win”
If that is the case it is more a reflection of his opposition, or rather lack of, rather than the man himself.
Whatever the extent of the actual Conservative win, it will also signal a green light for Brexit.
Early reports quote Johnson talking of an “earthquake” as the Tories win a majority in Parliament. That being so it marks an emphatic endorsement among British voters to pull out of the European Union.
It may also mark the end of the traditional Labour Party as we know it. According to the Mirror, this election is also the worst result for the party since 1935.
In the final weeks of the campaign, the Labour Party had been plagued by allegations of “anti-Semitism” within party ranks. Justified or not, those accusations undoubtedly took their toll.
Even more damaging to Labour’s appeal to many voters was not allegations of “anti-Semitism” but its lack of commitment to Brexit.
The Tories were predicted to win an 86-seat majority – their best result since Margaret Thatcher in 1987.
Former Labour Party strongholds like mining community Blyth Valley, Labour since 1950, fell to the Conservative Party. As did other areas in the North of England, like Leigh, Workington and Wrexham, which had been Labour Party seats for generations, and which also saw a historic shift last night.
Of course the big question now is whether Johnson will deliver on Brexit? The election win gives him a clear mandate to finalise Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union.
That being so we suspect that the E.U. leaders will view Johnson’ s victory with dismay.
The other big winners in last night’s election were the Scottish Nationalists who gained fourteen more seats.
Despite this gain we don’t think this signifies a renewed appeal among Scottish voters for independence. Like the Conservative Party gains, it indicates more an absence of real opposition to the Scottish Nationalists.
Although elements in the Scottish Nationalist Party will undoubtedly renew calls for independence they would be ill advised to campaign on it as an election winning strategy. A recent survey revealed declining support for Scottish independence and we suspect that this trend will continue. Ed
Talk of antisemitism in the labour party boosted votes, but people were determined to get out of the Rothschild EU.

One thing is for sure the next Labour leader will be from the Labour Friends of Israel element in the party. There will be a mass desertion of membership when Corbyn goes with no decent replacement in site.
How stupid of Labour to go against the 17.4 million who voted for Brexitand Corbyn at heart if anti-EU o that was the biggest problem. The AS campaign against him had very little effect in my opinion but the claims he was an IRA supporter stcuck with a lot of people.
I was glad to see Swinson lose her seat and the other anti Brexit fanatics who lost.
Sadly the racism fuelled decision to withdraw from the EU has allowed a party that does not care for anyone but the rich to win by landslide!
But the ignorant public still would take a broken NHS and economy over the prospect of more migrants entering the UK.
But the reality is, the Conservatives have let in just and many, if not more migrants than Labour ever did, worse yet the economic migrants with no valid identity beyond some documents handed to them in the EU to claim they are from Syria, when they are from Africa of Afghanistan etc, never has happened in the past, yet the racist voters, voted for the party that is making the reason they voted to leave the EU, actually worse, Ironic.
I admit not all who voted conservative are doing so because of racism, but the racsim fuelled fear around the whole immigration problem.
But that is what happens when people belive everything they are told on the TV, next will come the revoking of the EU article to human rights, soon after the return of work houses to create modern day slaves, who will work for free (a roof over their heads and basic food actually), their only crime, being born into poverty…

James Turner, I thought exactly as you, until very recently. Now I am not so sure that Bojo’s role is to sabotage Brexit. (May’s certainly was.) The intellectually feeble young who demonstrated against Bojo as early as last night were not primed and ready accidentally. Someone had taught them the ‘not my PM’ line, and taught them with intent. So the indication is that big capital intends to hound Bojo into political oblivion like it did Corbyn. The aim in ousting the latter was to clear the Labour Party throne for Prof. Vernon Bogdanov, a ‘card carrying’ Jew. However, if you are right and I wrong, and Bojo is also a dedicated Jew, then the full force of parliament will work against Brexit. (It is clear enough that British Jews are on side with Rothschild in wanting to destroy Brexit.) If that is the case, then we are looking into the jaws of hell.
