The U.S. has a history in modern times of using proxies to do its dirty work. Rather than commit U.S. troops to a struggle it uses local dissidents and malcontents, and sometime foreign-born mercenaries and terrorists.
Islamic State is but one example. Funded by U.S. allies in the gulf states and armed with U.S. supplied intelligence and weapons, the militants looked set to topple Syrian President Assad. Or so it seemed until the Russians stepped in Sept 2015.
During the Cold War the U.S. covertly backed Ukrainian neo-Nazi groups in its face-off with Moscow.
The neo-nazis went on to play a key role in the 2014 Maidan uprising, which helped oust President Viktor Yanukovych. Since then the U.S has covertly backed the Svoboda Party, one of Ukraine’s most prominent far-right groups.
In 2015 the U.S. 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team trained the Ukrainian National Guard, which had incorporated the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion into its ranks. The Ukrainian National Guard has since taken part in the conflict with pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine.
Now, out of the blue, Ukrainian neo-Nazis have suddenly appeared in Hong Kong, of all places, participating in anti-Chinese government protests. Did the Ukrainian fascists really travel half way around the world to show their support for political freedom in China? Or were they, as we suspect, directed by covert U.S. agencies to participate in the protests to put pressure on the government in Beijing?
If so they are doing exactly what they had done in Kiev in 2014, only this time the target is not Kiev and by extension Moscow but Hong Kong and Beijing.
It’s becoming clear that the U.S., no doubt with British help, is attempting to do in Hong Kong what it did in Kiev in 2014. What we are seeing is another “colour revolution, aided and abetted by the West, and the Ukrainian neo-Nazis have been drafted in as foot-soldiers. Ed.
Huge warning about some protest tourists who have just turned up, and who were at the rally yesterday.
If they are Azov Battalion then we're talking full on neo-nazi fascists connected with war crimes and torture. The worst of the worst. pic.twitter.com/ydAhgztW27
