It has been said that; “a little knowledge is dangerous”. The reason for that can be summed up in another long standing quote, “he’s not dealing with a full deck.” When you don’t know both ends of a subject AND all the context between them, you only have a partial grasp of what you are talking about. This means you don’t know what you are talking about and also that you, effectively, don’t know. The most powerful mantra of them all is, “I don’t know.” The simple explanation of this, in cosmic terms is… If You think You know, then God does not know. If you know that you do not know, then God is permitted to know and is also permitted to inform you. In other words, you have not closed out being informed from a higher level of knowing.

This is why you should never argue with anyone. Anyone who is arguing with you is not in possession of all the facts (as if anyone ever could be). This is why one of the notable characteristics of the wise is silence. An interesting ancillary to this is how the wise are instantly able to recognize one another and… why? Because they are both hosting the same entity- the same consciousness with the same awareness.

Physics concerns itself with the two states of manifest existence; energy and matter. It is math based. Metaphysics includes Physics but it exists within a wider parameter of being. Over the last century, give or take, Physics has pretty much now proven what metaphysics has stated for a much longer time. Something to keep in mind is that Metaphysics is only as true as the metaphysician engaged in it. The same holds true of Astrology. Many intelligent and partially informed people (we are ALL partially informed) think Astrology is bunk. No… many astrologers are bunko artists. Astrology as a true science is sacrosanct but most astrologers are not.

Physics has proven that ‘existence is thought born’. It has also proven that everything is made out of the same thing, vibrating at a different rate. You can then extrapolate from that that the basic element is ‘MINDSTUFF’. Then… you can ponder the concept of ‘there is only one mind’ and that mind would be the mind of God, who thinks everything into being. As a separated entity, you are a splintered off fragment of The One and you are then rendered into automatic opposition to The One; ergo… fallen angels. Should you ‘discover’ the means of reunification, what then would that make you?

If you think about it, this proves the existence of God. It doesn’t define God. That will FOREVER remain a mystery. It proves that something ‘thought’ existence into being and if everything is made out of the same thing then what else can we think but that the external universe, the manifest plane, is The Body of God? Certain things we can know and beyond that we can’t know anything more. There is a theory that more can be known once one has moved beyond Human. That’s what Yogis and True Seekers are all about. At a certain point, something far greater and more long lasting than yourself, either awakens in you, or in some arcane manner, comes to reside in you and a whole new breathtaking world, opens before your newly opened eyes.

Okay… we have, more or less, set the stage for today’s commentary. This being The Petri Dish, our commentary (diatribe) will be about cultural matters. The introduction at the site states, “As the landfill burbles with the toxic wastes of a disintegrating culture, I will be the voice-over…….”

People love to argue about religion. They like to proselytize. They would like for you to assume the missionary position. They will also offer conversion at the point of a sword. There are degrees of the intensification of the drama. Religion is like the training wheels on a bicycle. The time comes when you should take the training wheels off of the bike but… the priest class doesn’t like that. You are, after all, their sole means of support.

Some of us have no visible means of support but we are rare in these times. Some of us know, viscerally… that FAITH IS THE SUBSTANCE OF THINGS UNSEEN. It takes a bit of getting to get to that place. You have to impress the guy who runs the cornucopia. After that, there isn’t anything you can’t have. “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all else will be added unto you.” These are not just words… unless, in far too many cases these days, they are just words. What is it that those who want you to rely on them do? Whether they are a government, a religion or a corporation, they kill your True Faith so that you are compelled to depend on them. There is a visible hierarchy and an invisible hierarchy.

In the early stages, on the cusp of the Aquarian Age (a cusp lasts for around two hundred years) new templates began to appear. There was the New Thought Movement. There was Theosophy. There was Christian Science. There were different creeds that were attuned to the changes being brought about by the Industrial Revolution. Later on we got The New Age and Scientology and a few other systems. I get into it with people, now and again. Meaning that an argument begins to develop and I do my imitation of a clam. Often it is because someone wants me to pay attention to A Curse of Miracles or some other reconstituted flavor of the month, day, hour, epoch.

There is a basic shift in perspective between contemporary religious thought and New Age thinking. In the former, one celebrates divinity as an eternal force that can be resident within (I’m being very simplistic here). In the latter, You are God. I’m not going to touch that subject because I have direct experience of what is what …and it can’t be discussed in any sense where one can expect a clear cut answer. That is why there is so much argument that takes place between the different camps of people who don’t know what they are talking about.

Here is a definite example of why I am NOT FOND of the New Age – be sure not to miss her statements on the archangels and heh heh, she has a section on ‘angel messages’. You can get there from the masthead at the top of the page (in case you don’t know what a masthead is ((grin)). There you have your choice of Premium Angel Messages and Free Angel Messages. Wow! Just… Wow! She is described as “a clear channel of light”. There are thousands and thousands of these snake oil vendors around. Many of them have regular seminars. You attend for 2 weekends. Then there is a four day intensive. Then You are A Master and you get a certificate that says so. Some of these cost thousands of dollars. They have cruise ships that can cost a heap more and you wind up in one of those situations like a free Time Share dinner, or a free Time Share weekend/week somewhere and you… you rue the day. If that were not the case, there wouldn’t be things like this.

These characters are ruthless. Here is just one single example. Back in the eighties and nineties, there was this swarm of time share pestilence that came out of Las Vegas and hit Hawaii. I was living on Maui at the time and research showed me that it was a mob operation. People got hurt or worse, now and again. The New Age has its own methods of suasion (yes, that is a word) and you can find yourself short of a great deal more lucre than just a Time Share, witness the Bhagwan’s 99 Rolls Royce’s and the myriad excesses of personal gurus who shear the flocks.

For the thoughtful Christians, there are a few thoughtful spokesources. The larger body of Christians these days are subsumed in cant and dogma. The Word is of no practical value, unless revelation occurs AND it will occur for the focused and determined but how many are they who answer to that? There are thoughtful people out there but not much is going to dim the tide of people rushing in the direction of false light. Nothing outside of you is going to answer for the big question inside you; who am I? If you go to any search engine and put in ‘new age scam artists’ you will find a plentiful passel. The thing is, there are so many people and so much money …and… I suggest you do the math.

Though I do not think it is the product of a single life and given that I was told this, in any case, I have devoted this life to the search for God and I found what I was looking for. There are no further mountains for me to climb. There are no further tests or future exits into repackaged confusion of the self divided against the self for me. I’ll not be going into details but I will say that God-the divine-the everlasting almighty is… indefinable and incomprehensible and will ever and always be, indefinable and incomprehensible. However, there are two ways in which what is called God can be understood and experienced and that is by the practice and performance of Love and the practice and performance of the qualities of God. What are the qualities of God? Here is a very good listing of them.

Make Love the primary engine of your personal expression and in your small way, you will be using the same engine as The Great One. Assimilate his characteristics and exercise them and you will be behaving as he does when he moves about here, as he does. He is always here in one persona or another and encounters do occur now and again. You may be absolutely sure of this… or not, that’s up to you.

To put it in simple terms, go about your life as you imagine God would do, according to what you have learned about his behavior. Jesus ‘the’ Christ is a good example. Emulate him. Sometimes I hear, “What would Jesus do?” and I have to smile. Sometimes the context generates humor but… it is a real consideration nonetheless. If you do this consistently and if you want the company of the almighty more than anything else; that is a definite consideration, you will have the company of the divine. You MUST want it more than anything else. That is KEY… then IT WILL COME. You MUST be prepared for an unspecified period of trial and testing. You’re either all the way in, or you’re not. Halfway, or any way that isn’t all the way won’t cut it; never has and never will. You must be prepared for the censure of the world, the loss of everything… there is no telling what may be required of you. It is different for everyone.

The payoff is far, far… so far beyond the cost that the cost isn’t even to be considered; “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” Hallelujah and Amen to that!!!
