Donald Trump approved military strikes against Iran on Friday morning but abruptly decided not to launch them, according to reports.
Having initially said he believed Iran had made an error when it shot down a US drone early on Thursday in the Strait of Hormuz, the president is nonetheless believed to have approved retaliatory military strikes against Tehran.
The operation to hit targets such as radars and missile batteries was in its initial stages, the New York Times said, and planes were in the air and ships had been moved into position.
But before any missiles were fired, the president decided not to go ahead with the operation.
It was not clear if Mr Trump had changed his mind, or whether the strike was called off for operational or strategic reasons, said the report. At the same time Mr Trump was deciding whether to pursue a strike, the Federal Aviation Administration issued an emergency order prohibiting US operators from flying in airspace controlled by Iran above “the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman”. The order came as United Airlines suspended its Mumbai-Newark flight that passes over Iran citing safety concerns, the Financial Times said.
t was unclear if the strike approved by the president could subsequently go ahead, or whether Mr Trump was trying to intimidate Tehran without actually using his military. Late on Thursday the White House declined to respond to questions as to whether he had changed his mind.
The New York Times said the strike was planned to have struck on Friday morning local time, and designed to minimise risk to the Iranian military or to civilians.
“But military officials received word a short time later that the strike was off, at least temporarily,” it said.
The revelation came amid a day of mixed signals from the president, as he sought to deal with an increasingly tense situation with Iran after the shooting down of the drone in the Strait of Hormuz.
Speaking to reporters in the White House where he was meeting with Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, the president was asked if he was planning a military response to the downing of the drone. “You’ll find out,” he said.
Trump reverses himself a lot. Even Trump doesn’t know what he will do or won’t do. Trump does something one month and something opposite that the next month, or even the next day.

Honest Christian rulers who are not easily corrupted are opposite what Zionist Jews want. That is why the choices for high political office are usually a choice between bad and worse, like the choice between Trump or Hillary Rotten Clinton.
Since Trump ordered Marines into Syria in early 2017, Trump has behaved like other puppet politicians. Trump campaigned on ending the wars, then did just opposite, like so many puppet politicians before him.
Like other puppet politicians, Trump realizes that the bankster Jews can make him or break him. Trump is just another zionist puppet.
When Trump contradicts himself, reverses course, is being jerked around like a puppet on a string, it’s because his zionist puppet masters are pulling his strings.
The Great Tribulations seem to be starting and Armageddon seems to be just around the corner.
Trump is just like General George Custer trying to decide to ride down into the coulee at Little Big Horn. Does he have the nerve? Trump’s wavering is not a good sign because at a deeper (subconscious) level he already knows the outcome and it is not good for America or his Presidency.

I wrote a half dozen essays over the years that it looks (to me at least) that Iran is spiritually protected.
First they were able to overcome Rothschild domination and expel the puppet Shah government which ruthlessly killed 50,000 Iranian patriots. How many nation have been able to gain freedom from the One World Jewish Order?
Then Jimmy Carter’s hostage rescue attempt ended up crashing in the desert.
Reagan sicced Saddam on them, and Iran survived 10 year war with Iraq. Both sides lost 500,000 to 1,500,000 men. The new Republic of Iran prevailed Washington’s demonic Rothschild Zionist meddling.
They withstood all the sanctions and oil embargoes.
More recently, they weren’t successfully framed by the two tanker sabotage false flags the world and public are not convinced.
Iran shot down a top of the line Global Hawk drone. This, in my opinion, is a very bad omen. Jim Stone wrote yesterday that it is a stealth machine and if they can shoot that down they can also track and take out F-35’s.
Don’t forget that Russia and China could aid Iran by blinding satellites and GPS. And don’t forget about those advanced Tesla weapons Russia has that can disrupt all navigation and electronics. It would be in everyone’s interest if Uncle Sam was humiliated and sent home.
