It is important to point out that Hitler was not elected by the majority of Germans. Just as the Zionists did not represent the majority of Jews in Germany. Unlike many of the zealous Hitler followers posting here I have the advantage of having spoken to actual Germans that lived through the Hitler regime. None of those I spoke to were fans of Hitler, but were given no choice but to accept his rule. One person told me that in order to get a job she had to join the Nazi party. Another told me that people would attend his rallies because if they did not they would be punished or sent to a camp. At the very least we should be acknowledging the reality of life under Hitler. My favorite story was the former German soldier who told me that in his youth he was studying to become a priest and when the Nazis came along he joined them. Not a big leap I think.
