The war with Iran is far from over. According to Douglas Macgregor, apart from sending new fighters to the region the USAF has every B-1, B-2 and B-52 that they can send is on standby to do so. In other words, Trump is waiting for the midterms to be over before he launches the next phase of the war
Iran says it will begin reopening the Strait of Hormuz “immediately” if the U.S. accepts its preconditions. Among them that Washington acknowledge that its repeated claim that Iran was “on the verge” of acquiring a nuclear weapon was a “big lie,”
In what many will see as confirmation that Trump is acting on Netanyahu’s instructions, the U.S. president has rejected Iran’s peace proposal and told staff to prepare to resume bombing
Iran’s repeated and accurate missile strikes demonstrated the vulnerability of U.S. forces in the region and compelled them more evasive tactics
The consensus among Independent analysts is that the U.S. is engaged in a covert low-key build-up of arms and munitions in the region. So that once the U.S. midterms are out of the way Trump can order a resumption of strikes against Iran
Satellite photo spot 25 U.S. aerial refuelling planes at Al-Udeid Airbase in Qatar, the largest concentration of such planes since February. Have they been deployed in readiness for more U.S./Israeli air strikes on Iran?
Journalist Trita Parsi and Prof. John Mearsheimer on why U.S./Israeli strikes have only given Tehran greater incentive to acquire nuclear weapons.
In Dec 2011 Iran took control of an advanced U.S. RQ-170 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which they reversed engineered. Since then Iran has been at the cutting edge of UAV development. Is the same thing going to happen with Iran’s underwater drones?
If we had an honest unbiased press they would say that President Trump sounded dangerously delusional in his UN speech; boasting that he could ‘annihilate’ Iran. As he claimed that the U.S. had ample stocks of advanced munitions, even though the Pentagon’s Inspector General last week warned that they were critically low.
This is not improbable. The U.S. and Israel have been unable to crack Iran with conventional weapons and the longer this conflict continues the worse it looks for Trump. So rather than accept defeat, he may order a nuclear strike on some fabricated pretext
Since the start of the war the U.S. and Israel have used air and missile strikes to break Iran but to no avail. So if conventional arms are not going to do the trick, then they’ll probably resort to more lethal alternatives. And that is something that should concern us all.
A spokesman for Iran’s Revolutionary Guards has warned that if the U.S. and Israel resume their strikes against Iran, it will retaliate with new weapons that will leave the world “astounded”
