The unnamed country has also refused to take action against the suspect, making a drone strike one of the few feasible options left to deal with him.

Or so U.S. officials claim.

However, given that al-Qaeda was originally founded by Western intelligence there is good reason to doubt this story. The object being to familiarise them, if only subconsciously, with the notion that U.S. authorities can legitimately launch targeted drone strikes on Americans.

This may only be the beginning. For although it may start with a targeted strike on a U.S. terror suspect in a far-off land, as in this case, it could be followed by others closer to home.

In effect making this the thin end of the wedge and if it is followed by other similar stories Americans need to be on their guard.

Because it may not be long before ordinary Americans in mainland U.S.A. are targeted and hunted down by armed Predator drones. But like they say: “what goes around, comes around and who is to say if that happens it’s not karmic law at work? After all, for years Americnas have allowed armed drone to be remotely operated from their shores: killing innocent women and children in far-off lands.

Now it appears that could be about to come home to roost.
