In an appearance on MSNBC\u2019s Chris Matthews show this past weekend, Time columnist Joe Klein declared that anyone who fears that their government may become oppressive is \u201canti-American\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

In an exchange centered around the Obama administration\u2019s push for gun control, Klein took aim at gun owners, asking \u201c\u2026What do they need all those bullets for? I guess they just don\u2019t feel very strong.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Klein then stated that the US has become a \u201clot more wimpy\u201d as a nation because \u201cthese gun advocates at the NRA want these semi-automatic weapons.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

When Matthews asked Klein to speak about a \u201ccowboy culture\u201d, Klein continued his verbal assault.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I think that that\u2019s at the root of it, but there\u2019s something else that\u2019s going on now that is really, really dangerous, and it\u2019s this festering sense that we need to have these semi-automatic weapons because the government in Washington is about to oppress us.\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd that is paranoia that these groups like the NRA, the Gun Owners of America \u2014 they feed this crap, and it really is anti-American.\u201d Klein continued.<\/span><\/p>\n

Of course, any real American knows that the Constitution is predicated upon limitations to prevent the government becoming oppressive. Therefore, by Klein\u2019s logic, the Founding Fathers were anti-American.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

As Klein vilifies anyone who questions government overreach as paranoid and \u201canti-American\u201d, he simultaneously supports unrestricted drone assassinations overseas by the same administration. Klein has even argued that killing innocent 4 year old children in Pakistan and Afghanistan is just fine, so long as it protects \u201c4-year-olds here.\u201d Glenn Greenwald has <\/strong><\/span>noted<\/strong><\/span><\/a> [2]<\/sup> that this is the EXACT justification and mind set of every \u201cterrorist\u201d that the US has targeted.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

As Klein lectures the few Americans that still watch MSNBC programming on how questioning government oppression is \u201cparanoid crap\u201d, he simultaneously supports the same government mass murdering children abroad using \u201ca joystick in California.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Klein is down with democide. It\u2019s just fine with him. But if you question your government\u2019s motives he\u2019ll call you out as a dangerous kook.<\/span><\/p>\n

The gall of the man is incredulous. If anyone is anti-American it is Klein himself.<\/span><\/p>\n
