A Manhattan man was arrested today for making anti-Semitic calls to his mother and other elderly women \u2013 and he is also suspected of scrawling hate symbols in a heavily Orthodox Brooklyn neighborhood, The Post has learned.<\/span><\/p>\n David Haddad, 56, of Chelsea, allegedly snarled, \u201cAll Jews should die and go to hell,\u201d when he called his 80-year-old mother on Dec. 11 at her Brooklyn home in Sheepshead Bay.<\/span><\/p>\n He also went on vitriolic rants when he dialled an 87-year-old woman on Jan. 11 and phoned a 78-year-old woman on Jan. 12, sources said.<\/span><\/p>\n His relationship to those women were not immediately clear.<\/span><\/p>\n Haddad, who is Jewish but not practicing, is also suspected of scribbling hate symbols on five apartment doors in a Hells Kitchen building on Jan. 10, sources added.<\/span><\/p>\n He was arrested at his job as a building manager, police said.<\/span><\/p>\n Haddad had worked for his family\u2019s business \u2013 the import\/export of socks and underwear \u2013 in Linden, NJ, but left to start an off-shoot company, sources said.<\/span><\/p>\n That venture recently failed and Haddad began lashing out at family members and others, sources added.<\/span><\/p>\n His economic misfortune is being eyed as a possible motive, sources said.<\/span><\/p>\n As soon as he was taken into custody, Haddad secured a lawyer and made no statements or admissions to detectives, sources said.<\/span><\/p>\n Haddad is also a suspect in the Swastika-scrawling spree discovered over the weekend in the Midwood section of Brooklyn, sources said.<\/span><\/p>\n At the time, Haddad had been staying at his mother\u2019s place \u2013 which is not far from where the hate symbols were found, sources added.<\/span><\/p>\n Cops received a call at 10:45 p.m. Saturday about an Avenue L home whose garage door had been painted with a large swastika, two smaller ones and the words \u201cDie Jews.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n More graffiti was found on the front door of a home across the street, sources said.<\/span><\/p>\n Police also found several swastikas painted on the stairs and front door of an East 5th Street apartment building and on the basement stairs of an Ocean Parkway yeshiva.<\/span><\/p>\n
