He said the National Rally had \u201cideologically armed\u201d the attacker. He suggested that, if necessary, the Constitution itself should be amended.<\/p>\n<p>The same day, Green deputies Sabrina Sebaihi and Steevy Gustave deposited a bill in the National Assembly, and a parallel text was filed in the Senate by Akli Mellouli. However, the proportion of ethnic French is far lower than the data suggests, with INSEE refusing to publish statistics on second-generation migrants with French citizenship. Morel also writes that the Constitutional Council or European Court of Human Rights would likely strike down such a measure due to freedom of speech in Europe.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Camus says the Great Replacement is \u201cnot a theory\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Renaud Camus, the writer who coined the phrase, has continued to insist the underlying phenomenon is real and observable, distinguishing it from unfounded conspiracy claims.<\/p>\n<p>In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welt.de\/politik\/ausland\/plus6adf1ed744ab625f2110bd32\/vordenker-der-remigrationsbewegung-wer-seine-lebensweise-durchsetzen-will-muss-gehen.html\">interview released last week in the German newspaper Welt<\/a>, he stated that the Great Replacement \u201cis not a theory, but the name for a phenomenon that I consider the most important of our time. With this chrononym we can describe our era of the beginning of the 21st century to characterize the century as that of the Great Population Exchange, comparable to the Great War, the Great Depression, and the Great Plague.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He further stated: \u201cMy opponents may reject the term, but they admit the fact. Even Jean-Luc M\u00e9lenchon speaks of creolization. They point out that the same political forces have, on other occasions, spoken positively of demographic \u201ccr\u00e9olisation\u201d or the \u201cnew France.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Great Replacement is also not merely a \u201clofty theory\u201d discussed among a niche group of right-wingers, but a mainstream and recognized development by the French public. Polling shows that <a href=\"https:\/\/rmx.news\/article\/to-our-greatest-misfortune-our-rulers-are-among-the-40-french-politician-laments-french-rulers-who-do-nothing-about-population-replacement-and-surging-migrant-crime\/\">60 percent of the French believe the Great Replacement is occurring<\/a>, which involves the replacement of ethnic French people with people from Africa, Asia, and other countries.<\/p>\n<p>Under such a law, even France\u2019s most famed author, Michel Houellebecq, could face prison time if he were to call the Great Replacement a \u201cfact\u201d again, <a href=\"https:\/\/rmx.news\/france\/top-french-intellectuals-debate-god-the-eu-euthanasia-and-immigration\/\">as he did in 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Whether the proposals to criminalize discussions of the Great Replacement actually advance in a fragmented National Assembly remains uncertain.
