Introduction \u2013 Oct 5, 2026<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Sky New’s claim that \u201cThe Gloucestershire air base was the target of a suspected terror attack on 27 September” can be ignored. No doubt the six suspects who were detained in the vicinity of RAF Fairford and who comprise one Iranian\/British national and five other Britons, prompted speculation about \u201cterror”.<\/p>\n

However, they have all subsequently been released on bail. If they had been involved in terror related activity THAT WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED.<\/p>\n

So what really prompted the rushed withdrawal of USAF bombers from RAF Fairford? The fact that there was a sudden departure of at least 12 bombers included several that had just arrived in the U.K., suggests that there was a very real perceived threat.<\/p>\n

Although we are confident that the six men detained and subsequently released were not part of that, it is worth looking at how USAF air power might have been threatened.<\/p>\n

Only months ago Iran warned that it was prepared to strike beyond the Middle East against nations that hosted facilities that supported U.S. strikes<\/a><\/strong>, like RAF Fairford, which regularly supported planes involved in bombing Iran.<\/p>\n

Although RAF Fairford is 4,500 kilometres from Tehran and therefore out of range of Iran\u2019s known missiles, there are other ways that Iran could strike the Gloucestershire air base.<\/p>\n

For example, USAF bombers on the tarmac at RAF Fairford would have been sitting ducks for armed drone strikes. It would only have taken a handful of IRGC operatives disguised as Iranian asylum seekers to get into the country and pilot armed drones and detonate them over U.S. bombers loaded with ordnance for chaos to ensue.<\/p>\n

The Ukrainians have already set a precedent for this type of attack<\/strong><\/a>. Was Iran about to emulate them at RAF Fairford?<\/p>\n

Did Western intelligence get word of such an attack? Is that why the U.S. bombers left RAF Fairford so hurriedly and why we are being fed reports about a fake “terror” attack. Is this to distract us from the fact that the West’s defences are far more vulnerable than the authorities would have us believe?<\/p>\n

I realise that this is speculative but it is no more so than the mainstream media’s explanation for the departure. Ed.<\/p>\n

The US Air Force has removed all of its bombers from RAF Fairford, it has revealed.<\/p>\n

A Pentagon official confirmed the removal of the US Air Force’s bombers, including B-1s, B-2s, and B-52s, on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Gloucestershire<\/a><\/strong> air base was the target of a suspected terror attack on 27 September. Five UK nationals in their mid-20s were arrested on suspicion of explosives offences and terrorism close to the military site.<\/p>\n

They have since been bailed, as has a UK-Iranian national who was arrested on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts<\/a><\/strong> on 1 October.<\/p>\n

Three of the US planes landed in South Dakota on Sunday, anonymous US officials reportedly told The New York Times.<\/p>\n

One of them said that more specific threat details had emerged in the 24 hours prior to the withdrawal of the bomber planes from the base.<\/p>\n

Some planes and crew left while refuelling flights were still being arranged because of the urgency of the situation, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n

A Pentagon official said on Sunday: “US Air Force bombers routinely operate around the world to support global force readiness and operational requirements.<\/p>\n

“While operational security precluded us from confirming the movement of our assets and forces in real-time, we can acknowledge now that all US bombers that were deployed to RAF Fairford have redeployed to their home stations in the United States.<\/p>\n

“The airmen that operate America’s bomber force, including B-1s, B-2s, and B-52s, remain ready to deliver precision global strike capabilities – including through operations that launch and recover from the continental United States – anywhere, anytime.”<\/p>\n

Andy Burnham said on Wednesday there was a “strong indication that Iran played a part” in the earlier incident. Iran has denied any involvement.<\/p>\n

Two Pentagon sources told Sky’s US partner network NBC News that the rushed withdrawal of at least 12 bombers included several that had just arrived as part of a rotation to the base.<\/p>\n

RAF<\/a><\/strong> Fairford is an important base for US military operations. It acts as the headquarters for the US 501st Combat Support Wing and the 420th Air Base Squadron, according to the unit’s website.<\/p>\n

It serves as “the preferred bomber forward operating location in Europe for US Air Force Global Strike Command”.<\/p>\n
