A sixth man who was arrested in connection with a suspected terror plot at RAF Fairford has been released on bail, Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) said.<\/p>\n
The 25-year-old man, a dual UK-Iranian national, was arrested on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.<\/p>\n
He was arrested on Thursday in the Borough of Westminster, London, where searches of two properties have now concluded.<\/p>\n
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, CTP added.<\/p>\n
It comes after five British nationals, all in their mid-20s, were arrested on suspicion of explosives offences and terrorism and then bailed.<\/p>\n

Senior CTP national co-ordinator Vicki Evans previously said\u00a0the investigation\u00a0is\u00a0\u201chugely complex\u201d, adding\u00a0specialist teams are\u00a0\u201cinterrogating\u00a0multiple lines of inquiry\u201d.<\/p>\n
She added:\u00a0\u201cAs we\u2019ve made clear, we\u2019re looking at all possible angles \u2013 including possible foreign state involvement.\u201d<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Andy Burnham has said there were \u201cstrong indications\u201d Iran played a part in the incident near the Gloucestershire military base.<\/p>\n
RAF Fairford has been used in recent months by US bombers after former prime minister Sir Keir Starmer granted the US permission to use British bases for \u201cdefensive\u201d strikes against Tehran during the Middle East war.<\/p>\n
Counter-terror police have said a quantity of petrol but no explosive devices were found in the vans that sparked the security alert near the airbase.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed Israel handed Britain intelligence about the suspected terror plot.<\/p>\n
Mr Netanyahu said his country warned UK authorities about the \u201cIranian-sponsored attack\u201d shortly before Britain\u2019s announcement of a ban on trade with illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank.<\/p>\n
Earlier in the week, US president Donald Trump said he was \u201cdisappointed\u201d after the five men were released on bail.<\/p>\n
He told reporters: \u201cWe were involved in (the investigation), but as you know, your fellow countrymen let them go.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, they didn\u2019t let them go. They put them out on bail. I assume they haven\u2019t watched closely\u2026 they should not have done that.\u201d<\/p>\n
