The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says the United States\u2019 latest economic pressure campaign against Iran amounts to an implicit admission of failure on the military front.<\/strong><\/p>\n Speaking to reporters on Sunday, IRGC spokesman Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi reacted to recent statements by US President Donald Trump about launching what he called the \u201cmost crushing economic operation\u201d against Iran.<\/p>\n “The US president says that he ordered an economic war and launched the most severe economic campaign against Iran. This amounts to an implicit admission of the enemy\u2019s humiliating defeat in the military arena,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n He added that the US would have no need to resort to economic warfare if it had achieved victory on the military front.<\/p>\n The IRGC spokesman noted that such pressure against Iran is nothing new, saying the enemies have waged an economic war and imposed sanctions on all major sectors for 47 years.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have repeatedly announced that we have scenarios in place for any hostile action by the enemy. One of the enemy\u2019s hostile actions is economic measures and warfare,\u201d Mohebbi said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have scenarios to counter the adverse effects of the enemy’s war, and we can easily establish economic relations with countries. There is no concern regarding the economic situation,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n He noted that Tehran has economic interaction with other countries despite sanctions and emphasized that the results of such efforts would become evident in the near future.<\/p>\n According to the IRGC spokesman, Iran\u2019s armed forces have succeeded in dealing heavy blows to the enemy\u00a0during the 40-day and 12-day wars in June 2025 and late February.<\/p>\n Iran targeted at least 30 to 40 enemy warships inside the Persian Gulf before the 40-day imposed war, and the enemy has now retreated to a distance of 400 kilometers from the Persian Gulf waters, he said.<\/p>\n He reiterated that Washington had deployed extensive military resources to control\u00a0the Strait of Hormuz, but ultimately failed.<\/p>\n On Wednesday, Trump announced what he called the \u201cmost crushing economic operation\u201d against Iran, claiming that Tehran would face \u201ceconomic warfare and isolation on an unprecedented scale.\u201d\u00a0He also threatened sanctions against any country that does business with Iran.<\/p>\n The threat comes as his war on Iran, launched alongside the Israeli regime on February 28, has failed to reach any of its objectives.<\/p>\n In a post on his X account on Thursday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned the United States that intensifying \u201cfailed\u201d policies against Iran will only lead to further setbacks.<\/p>\n
