We\u00a0are not building an\u00a0army for a\u00a0press conference. Click to enlarge<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Tomczyk warned that Russia could carry out a\u00a0large-scale provocation within months, although he\u00a0did not specify what form such an\u00a0operation might take.<\/p>\n<p>He\u00a0said Warsaw has changed the way it\u00a0evaluates threats and no\u00a0longer divides potential scenarios into those considered realistic and unrealistic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u00a0no\u00a0longer divide scenarios into realistic and unrealistic, only into probable and improbable. Even some large-scale provocation by\u00a0the Kremlin could just as\u00a0well happen within a\u00a0few months,\u201d Tomczyk said.<\/p>\n<p>The warning comes amid growing concern in\u00a0NATO about how quickly Russia could rebuild its military capabilities after its war of\u00a0aggression against Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Tomczyk referred to\u00a0an\u00a0assessment by\u00a0NATO\u2019s top commander in\u00a0Europe, Gen. Click to enlarge<\/p><\/div>\n<p>For Warsaw, supporting Ukraine is\u00a0therefore directly connected to\u00a0Poland\u2019s own security.<\/p>\n<p>Tomczyk argued that Russia is\u00a0not currently prepared for a\u00a0direct confrontation with NATO and would lose such a\u00a0war, pointing to\u00a0Ukraine\u2019s ability to\u00a0hold back Russian forces despite the enormous imbalance in\u00a0resources.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, Putin\u2019s Russia is\u00a0not ready for a\u00a0confrontation with NATO and would lose such a\u00a0war. All the more so\u00a0because we\u00a0can see that Ukraine has stopped Russia\u2014let alone the full potential of\u00a0the Alliance. We\u00a0must be\u00a0aware of\u00a0our own strength.
