Since leaving the news network, Carlson\u2019s podcast has routinely garnered millions of views and featured high-profile interviews, including a 2024 conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n<p>In an exclusive interview with RT\u2019s Rick Sanchez on Wednesday, Carlson said he had <em>\u201cgot old enough and insulated enough from the normal levers of control to say what I really think is true.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>What are you going to do about it? Kill me? OK, I\u2019m not afraid of that. I\u2019m a Christian. So I\u2019m just going to keep talking.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Carlson blamed <em>\u201cneocons\u201d<\/em> within the American <em>\u201cwar lobby\u201d<\/em> for pushing the US toward destruction.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis Iran war, the war with Russia\u00a0\u2013 these are the things that will destroy the US, and I live here and my family\u2019s been here for 350 years, and\u2026 I don\u2019t want to see my country destroyed,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n<p>Another prominent right-wing influencer who was highly critical of hawks within the Republican Party and US involvement in foreign wars, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated last year.<\/p>\n<p>Kirk, a co-founder of the nonprofit Turning Point USA, was fatally shot by a sniper while addressing a crowd at Utah Valley University.
