Iranian missiles have become more effective<\/a>, accurate, and destructive, Former US Chief of Naval Operations Adviser at the Pentagon, Professor Theodore Postol, stated.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Going Underground<\/em>, Postol stated, \u201cTheir [Iran’s] ballistic missiles are by exceptional margins beyond what we saw in the beginning<\/a>, even in the June 2025 war, causing severe damage to targets of high strategic value to the Israelis.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the televised interview broadcast Saturday, he admitted he had been mistaken<\/a> in his earlier assessment that Tehran would inflict only \u201climited\u201d damage on Tel Aviv.<\/p>\n

“I was estimating, based on data I had collected, that the Iranians could do significant but modest damage to Tel Aviv if the war escalated,” Postol stated, noting that “well, I was wrong, because there was a whole generation of newer, more capable missiles that are impossible, I want to underscore, impossible to intercept<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

Attempts to intercept Iranian missiles ‘foolish’<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u201cThey are not close to being subject to interception, and they have bigger warheads that are more destructive,\u201d Postol added, noting that Iran possesses large numbers of these missiles, characterized by high precision, “which means that they can focus<\/a> them on doing more heavy damage on targets that are more valuable to the Israelis.”<\/p>\n

Postol described Israeli air defenses as \u201cfoolish\u201d<\/a> in their attempts to counter Iranian ballistic missiles, stating: \u201cThen there are the drones. And the air defences have been foolishly used against ballistic missiles. The air defences have almost no capability against ballistic missiles.\u201d<\/p>\n

Additionally, Postol rejected the notion that Iran is the “nuclear instability”<\/a> in the Middle East, instead saying that “Israel” is, attributing this to the willingness of Israeli leadership to “push their country to a situation where their own military leadership is telling them we are on the ropes.”<\/p>\n

Former Israeli Navy official admits heavy damage to Israeli assets<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Former Israeli occupation Navy Commander Eliezer Marom has acknowledged the growing threat posed by Iran\u2019s missile arsenal, admitting that Iranian strikes have inflicted substantial damage<\/a> on “Israel.”<\/p>\n

Speaking to the Israeli newspaper Maariv<\/em>, Marom said, \u201cWe have seen what even limited barrages of Iranian missiles can do. The damage here in Israel is enormous<\/a>, enormous. A significant portion of this damage remains unseen and unknown to the public due to military censorship.\u201d<\/p>\n

He further warned that Iran is maintaining \u201can immense pace of ballistic missile production.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marom\u2019s remarks come amid increasing Israeli concern over the advancement of Iran\u2019s military capabilities and the impact of its missile operations. His comments follow Iran\u2019s retaliatory response to the Israeli aggression on Beirut\u2019s southern suburbs on June 7, during which Tehran launched strikes against a number of sensitive sites across northern occupied Palestine.<\/p>\n

The latest escalation has underscored the destructive potential of Iran\u2019s missile capabilities<\/a>, with Tehran reportedly inflicting significant losses on the occupation entity in response to Israeli aggression against both Iran and the broader Axis of Resistance.<\/p>\n

Despite the scale of the damage, Israeli authorities continue to withhold details of many losses under military censorship, drawing scrutiny over efforts to preserve public morale and sustain claims of strategic success.<\/p>\n
