Both cases involve questions about whether police treated the right person as the threat. The difference: Floyd&#8217;s death triggered two years of global protests, billions in riot damage, cities defunded, statues toppled, and a cultural revolution that fundamentally changed how police departments across America operated.<\/p>\n<p>Nowak&#8217;s death \u2013 a white British student stabbed through the heart while police believed his attacker&#8217;s false racism claim \u2013 got a few days of coverage before the media moved on to calling anyone who mentioned it &#8220;far-right.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Watch the bodycam footage. It&#8217;s just one the left refuses to say out loud.<\/p>\n<p>Ben Shapiro launched a formal petition earlier this year urging President Trump to pardon Chauvin&#8217;s federal conviction \u2013 calling it &#8220;the defining achievement of the woke movement in American politics.&#8221; Musk amplified it: &#8220;Something to think about.&#8221; Trump said at the time he hadn&#8217;t heard about it.<\/p>\n<p>That was March 2025. Now it&#8217;s June 2026, Musk is making the same point in a new context, and the question has only gotten sharper. Chauvin&#8217;s legal team filed for post-conviction relief in late 2024, arguing the medical examiner who ruled Floyd&#8217;s death a homicide may have been pressured \u2013 a claim bolstered by an internal memo from a Hennepin County assistant attorney that has quietly circulated in conservative legal circles. The Supreme Court declined to hear his appeal in 2023. His remaining legal avenues are narrow.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what Musk understands that the media won&#8217;t say: the George Floyd narrative was never primarily about one man&#8217;s death. It was about power. It was about which deaths matter, who gets to assign blame, and which communities get told to stay quiet.<\/p>\n<p>Musk isn&#8217;t making excuses for what happened on that Minneapolis sidewalk.
