The Pentagon has made good on Donald Trump\u2019s promise and published the first instalment of previously classified UFO files.<\/p>\n

You can read them all on the Pentagon\u2019s dedicated website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The cache of 162 files, photos and videos has caused a buzz of conversation\u2026but I\u2019m not sure why.<\/p>\n

This article in the Express<\/a>, for example, picks out a memo for special attention. It discusses a book by American author Frank Edwards, which details allegedly alien figures seen by witnesses:<\/p>\n

One of the most startling details referred to humanoid beings described as \u201cthree and a half to 4 feet tall\u201d and dressed in \u201cspace suits and helmets\u201d. Edwards reportedly insisted those making the claims were trustworthy figures including police officers, military personnel on official duty, airline pilots and civil defence officials.<\/p>\n

\u2026but that\u2019s all from the book<\/em>, not the memo<\/em>. It was published over sixty years ago, and you can buy it on Amazon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hardly classified information.<\/p>\n

The FBI\u2019s (heavily redacted) report of [anonymous witnesses] seeing something metallic flying at [unnamed US test site] was, at least, not readable in a public library every day for the last six decades. And the artwork is something else:<\/p>\n

\u2026that\u2019s apparently the level of Photoshop ability that a trillion-dollar defence budget buys you.<\/p>\n

Buzz Aldrin apparently saw something like \u201cbright sparks\u201d during an Apollo mission, as did other astronauts on later missions, which made me chuckle because of John Glenn\u2019s hilarious cameo in Frasier<\/a>.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s the highlights, but only of this batch!<\/p>\n

Remember, we\u2019re just beginning, as the Pentagon\u2019s statement on the release made clear:<\/p>\n

\u201cAdditional files will be released by the Department of War on a rolling basis,\u201d<\/p>\n

What kind of rolling basis? They don\u2019t say. A cynic might suggest \u201cwhenever they need a distraction to hit the headlines.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The only part of this that really interests me personally is what the point<\/em> of it all is. Whether they really will try an alien-based psy-op or it\u2019s part of the controlled demolition of the US, or it\u2019s just\u2026stuff.<\/p>\n

Made up stuff because, in the end, they don\u2019t really care what we say, as long as we\u2019re talking about something they made up.<\/p>\n

Which, naturally, leads us to acknowledge the burgeoning disclaimer of our age: In the end, we can\u2019t even trust that these files are genuine in even the loosest meaning of that word.<\/p>\n
