Introduction \u2013 May 5, 2026<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Following recent stabbings in Golders Green, Britain\u2019s political establishment are all warning about the rising tide of anti-Semitism in the country, almost as if on cue. But are we really seeing rising levels of \u201canti-Semitism\u201d?<\/p>\n

Or are we really witnessing mounting public anger over Israel\u2019s campaign in Gaza, and now southern Lebanon; and has Britain\u2019s political establishment been ordered to conflate this with \u201canti-Semitism\u201d?<\/p>\n

There IS<\/strong> a difference. A BIG<\/strong> difference. Opposing Israeli genocide in Gaza, and now southern Lebanon, DOES NOT mean that you hate all Jews.<\/p>\n

Crucially, there are many ordinary Jews who are also appalled at Israeli actions but by equating opposition to Zionism with anti-Semitism Jewish supremacists hope that they too can be silenced.<\/p>\n

By conflating anger over Israel\u2019s criminality in Gaza and southern Lebanon with \u201canti-Semitism\u201d the aim is to silence all criticism of Israel, justified or not. Thereby giving Netanyahu and his accomplices carte blanche for their crimes.<\/p>\n

As a result we are now seeing a deluge of reports about “anti-Semitism” in the UK and politicians from all shades of the political spectrum coming out to denounce it. Almost as if their\u2019 political careers depended on it.<\/p>\n

Are they responding to calls from their constituents on the issue, or the Board of British Jewish Deputies?<\/p>\n

In the final analysis it amounts to an endorsement of Israeli crimes, which means that Starmer, British politicians and the media who promote these lies are all complicit. Ed.<\/p>\n

Keir Starmer has criticised the Arts Council for funding organisations that promote the work of artists accused of anti-Semitism<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister announced a review into how the body uses public funding, calling on it to withdraw or claw back money from organisations that provide a platform for anti-Jewish hate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He spoke after hosting a forum in Downing Street to address the heightened threat to Jewish communities following the stabbings in Golders Green<\/a> last week.<\/p>\n

Representatives from the policing, health, education and cultural sectors, including Arts Council England, were in attendance.<\/p>\n

In Downing Street on Tuesday, the Prime Minister said: \u201cWe will also expect more where public funding is being used to promote or platform anti-Semitism, the Arts Council must act, using its power to suspend, withdraw and claw back funding<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will be zero tolerance for inaction in our cultural venues and spaces.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sir Keir also said there would be a \u201chard-edged\u201d audit into where systems were failing to identify and act on anti-Semitism.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will not, and cannot, accept complacency, delays or weak enforcement, and where inconsistency is found, it will be challenged and addressed swiftly,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Last week, Darren Henley, the chief executive of the Arts Council, said: \u201cWe are taking action to address the growing problem of anti-Semitism and to support the Jewish community.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the last year, we have been speaking to representatives of the community about how we can tackle anti-Jewish racism and how we can help the Jewish cultural community to thrive.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Arts Council has previously faced controversy because of links to organisations accused of promoting or failing to challenge anti-Semitic narratives.<\/p>\n

In 2024, the Collections Trust, a charity sponsored by the council, described Hamas as \u201canti-colonial freedom fighters<\/a>.<\/p>\n
