Ty Cobb, an attorney who served as White House counsel during President Donald Trump\u2019s first term, once again raised alarm bells at the president\u2019s cognitive decline<\/a>, claiming it has \u201caccelerated\u201d and that Trump now shows signs of dementia. <\/a><\/p>\n

Cobb, who has repeatedly raised similar concerns about Trump, told MS NOW\u2019s Ari Melber Thursday <\/a>that Trump, 79, \u201cis somebody who is just lost.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHis vocabulary has shrunk, he\u2019s resorted to profanity and threats, totally impulsive\u2013 suggestive of the absence of any frontal lobe controls,\u201d Cobb said.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s recent tangents <\/a>during press conferences and meetings, which are sometimes completely irrelevant to the topic at hand<\/a>, combined with his outraged Truth Social posts, including a recent threat to wipe out all of the Iranian civilization, have sparked conversation about the president\u2019s cognitive health. <\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cHe doesn\u2019t understand this at all, any more than Joe Biden had difficulty getting off stage and finding the exit,\u201d the former Trump attorney added.<\/p>\n

In response to Cobb\u2019s comments, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle said, \u201cTy Cobb should immediately seek psychiatric help to treat his severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, and he should also shave that caterpillar off his face.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Trump\u2019s sharpness, unmatched energy, and historic accessibility stand in stark contrast to what we saw during the last administration when Democrats and other lunatics intentionally covered up Joe Biden\u2019s serious mental and physical decline from the American people,\u201d Ingle added.<\/p>\n

The president has long been known for going on tangents and boasting about his accomplishments, but has recently been accused of falling asleep during televised meetings<\/a>, steering off topic more frequently, going on social media rants late at night and using vulgar language to attack opponents \u2013 sometimes former allies.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s much different. It\u2019s definitely accelerated,\u201d Cobb said of the president\u2019s mental decline <\/a>compared to his first term.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s behavior has always been unlike that of other former presidents, who typically take the high road when insulted or are more thoughtful and calculated when issuing a statement.<\/p>\n

But Cobb pointed to several examples of Trump\u2019s unhinged posts as signs of a mental decline<\/a> \u2013 such as claiming he was \u201cglad\u201d former FBI Director Robert Mueller was dead; insinuating the director Rob Reiner was murdered because of his opposition<\/a> to Trump; and attacking Pope Leo XIV <\/a>for not supporting the Iran war.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the classic symptoms of Alzheimer’s is the sleep-wake reversal. So we see these screeds coming out at 4 a.m. and we see him falling asleep at Cabinet meetings at mornings and afternoons. That\u2019s a classic symptom of dementia,\u201d Cobb, who is not a physician, said.<\/p>\n

Cobb\u2019s latest comments echo similar concerns raised by former Trump allies, such as Marjorie Taylor Greene,<\/a> Democratic opponents, such as Rep. Jamie Raskin<\/a>, doctors, such as Dr. Vin Gupta<\/a> and even the president\u2019s own family \u2013 such as his niece, Mary L. Trump. <\/a><\/p>\n

Greene, a former staunch Trump ally who has become one of his most vocal critics recently, declared the president had \u201cgone insane\u201d<\/a> after he posted a message on Easter threatening to take out the Iranian civilization.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we have to truly question the mental stability of any president that threatens to wipe out an entire civilization,\u201d Greene told CNN.<\/a><\/p>\n

Democrats threatened to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump<\/a>, believing his Easter message was a sign that the president\u2019s cognitive acuity had rapidly declined.<\/p>\n

The White House and Trump allies have defended the president\u2019s mental and physical abilities, consistently assuring people he is extremely healthy and denying reports suggesting otherwise<\/p>\n

“He’s very, very sane,\u201d Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told members of Congress Friday.<\/p>\n

But members of Congress, led by Raskin,<\/a> have recently asked White House Physician Sean Barbabella to evaluate Trump\u2019s cognitive fitness.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Gupta, a physician who serves as MS NOW\u2019s senior medical analyst, said the president was \u201cexhibiting all the signs of dementia.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cErratic. Can\u2019t finish sentences. Often confused. Illogical train of thought. Word finding difficulties. Developing and worsening gradually over time. The President is exhibiting all the signs of dementia,\u201d Gupta wrote. <\/a><\/p>\n

When a reporter asked Trump about his critics who have raised concerns about his mental health, Trump responded: \u201cI haven\u2019t heard that. But if that\u2019s the case, you\u2019re going to have to have more people like me.\u201d<\/p>\n
