{"id":325269,"date":"2026-03-24T07:30:42","date_gmt":"2026-03-24T07:30:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=325269"},"modified":"2026-03-26T07:12:42","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T07:12:42","slug":"rising-number-of-us-troops-oppose-iran-war-refuse-to-die-for-israel-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=325269","title":{"rendered":"Rising number of US troops oppose Iran war, refuse to &#8216;die for Israel&#8217;: Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The Cradle \u2013 March 23, 2026<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>More and more US troops deployed to West Asia are expressing doubts about fighting in the war against Iran, including having to \u201cdie for Israel,\u201d the <em>Huffington Post <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffpost.com\/entry\/trump-troops-iran-war-israel_n_69bf18a1e4b01c6ce885ce6d\">reported<\/a> on 23 March.<\/p>\n<p>A veteran and reservist who mentors younger officers told <em>HuffPost<\/em> that troops she speaks with are expressing a loss of faith after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu helped push US President Donald Trump to go to war against Iran.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m hearing out of service members\u2019 mouths the words, \u2019We do not want to die for Israel \u2013 we don\u2019t want to be political pawns,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve shared conscientious objector information six times in the past two weeks, and I\u2019ve been in the military almost 20 years \u2013 I\u2019ve never had people reach out this way,\u201d the first reservist continued.<\/p>\n<p>Interviews with active-duty soldiers, reservists, and advocacy groups conducted by <em>HuffPost<\/em> found that many US troops expressed feeling vulnerable, overwhelming stress, frustration, and disillusionment to the extent that they wished to leave the military.<\/p>\n<p>Interviews further revealed that troops are worried about inadequate protection from Iranian ballistic missiles and drones targeting US bases in the Gulf region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGetting random indirect fire is not the same as watching the entire gym and coffee shop and some dorms get blown up from a door less than 50 meters away,\u201d said one service member.<\/p>\n<p>Thirteen troops have been killed in the war so far, and at least\u00a0232\u00a0have been wounded.<\/p>\n<p>White House officials are now speaking of launching a limited ground invasion to seize Kharg Island in the Persian Gulf.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">A move currently supported by 7% of Americans <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/uKzRh8nI7g\">https:\/\/t.co\/uKzRh8nI7g<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/LNMKct067B\">pic.twitter.com\/LNMKct067B<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Center on Conscience &amp; War (@CCW4COs) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CCW4COs\/status\/2035095735033897251?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 20, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A ground operation would be \u201can absolute disaster \u2026 we don\u2019t have a plan for that,\u201d said a military official who is treating service members evacuated from the Gulf to a US military hospital in Germany. \u201cWe can\u2019t even fully defend a single land base in the theater.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mike Prysner, the executive director of the Center on Conscience and War, said at least one new military service member now contacts the organization daily.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Prysner said his group is handling \u201cexpedited\u201d objector applications by US Army, Navy, and Marine Corps personnel who were scheduled to deploy within days.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">We\u2019re now dealing with multiple expedited CO applications by those in the Navy, Army and Marines who were just told they deploy as early as tomorrow. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/CknavtOhlx\">https:\/\/t.co\/CknavtOhlx<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mike Prysner (@MikePrysner) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MikePrysner\/status\/2035123165639450918?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 20, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Three Navy ships carrying 2,200 more marines have been deployed to West Asia, two US officials <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.com\/video\/131280612\/\">told<\/a> ABC News on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>And Matt Howard, the co-director of the group About Face: Veterans Against The War, said his organization has been helping more active-duty troops understand their rights to leave the military as conscientious objectors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFolks have the right to options, including conscientious objector status. My understanding is that more and more folks are going that particular route.
