The war in Iran is having the impact that most people with any sense knew it would have: The price of oil is going up, and the supply of oil is going down.<\/p>\n

Of course, whether or not the latter of these is actually<\/em> true we will never know, and it\u2019s beside the point. Oil companies will natural take the slightest excuse to price gouge and contrive scarcity for the basest of profit motives.<\/p>\n

It also serves a political motive as well, since we know the global political machinery is \u2013<\/p>\n

against<\/strong> free travel
\nagainst<\/strong> fossil fuels and
\nagainst<\/strong> people being able to afford basically anything.<\/p>\n

Which is of course another reason \u2013 we could say the ultimate real<\/em> reason \u2013 why the head of BP is screaming about fuel rationing<\/a>\u2026<\/p>\n

Sri Lanka and Thailand have already brought in rationing measures<\/a>. In Vietnam they will be grounding flights, beginning in April<\/a>, due to jet fuel shortages.<\/p>\n

On Friday it was reported that a \u201cglobal fuel shortage may be just days away\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pakistan, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Thailand have also instituted remote work<\/a> for government employees.<\/p>\n

In Denmark, it\u2019s not policy yet, only a suggestion. With government ministers begging \u2013 \u201cplease, please, please\u201d<\/a> \u2013 not to drive and to reduce their energy usage at home. Australia is going the panic-buying-causes-shortages<\/a> route.<\/p>\n

Bloomberg is warning that the fuel crisis may threaten the global food supply<\/a>.<\/p>\n
