{"id":324748,"date":"2026-03-15T08:42:25","date_gmt":"2026-03-15T08:42:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=324748"},"modified":"2026-03-16T08:47:17","modified_gmt":"2026-03-16T08:47:17","slug":"five-kc-135s-hit-by-iranian-missiles-in-saudi-arabia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=324748","title":{"rendered":"Five KC-135s hit by Iranian missiles in Saudi Arabia"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Joanna Bailey \u2013 Aerospace Global News March 14, 2026<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/aerospaceglobalnews.com\/tag\/us-air-force\/\">US Air Force<\/a><\/strong> has suffered damage to five <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/aerospaceglobalnews.com\/tag\/boeing-kc-135-stratotanker\/\">KC-135<\/a><\/strong> tanker aircraft while on the ground at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n<p>US officials told the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/livecoverage\/us-israel-iran-war-news-2026\/card\/five-air-force-refueling-planes-hit-in-iranian-strike-on-saudi-arabia-wHYFMW2YG3p0rwH3HaGU\">Wall Street Journal <\/a><\/strong>that the aircraft were hit in an Iranian missile strike in recent days, and that while the tankers suffered damage, they would be repaired and returned to service.<\/p>\n<p>The officials confirmed to the outlet that no personnel were killed in the strikes.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Iranian drones and missiles target Prince Sultan Air Base multiple times<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Prince Sultan Air Base has been a vital airbase for the US since it was established in the 1990s. In the early 2000s, it was drawn down, and most operations shifted to Al Udeid. Much of the news has emerged from open-source intelligence monitoring, while official sources have remained largely silent on the extent of any damage.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Video footage purported to show an Iranian ballistic missile strike on Prince Sultan Air Base in Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia, with the missile impacting very close to several U.S. servicemembers, thankfully said to have resulted in only minor injuries to personnel at Prince Sultan. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Nlju8TCZ22\">pic.twitter.com\/Nlju8TCZ22<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 OSINTdefender (@sentdefender) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sentdefender\/status\/2029966655363895565?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 6, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With several additional KC-135 tankers now reportedly non-operational, the US Air Force could face increased pressure on a fleet that underpins its ability to conduct long-range strikes and air patrols.<\/p>\n<p>CENTCOM has not yet publicly commented on the report by The Wall Street Journal.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>US Air Force is now down at least seven KC-135 refuelling tankers<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Five more KC-135s out of action takes the number of refuelling aircraft grounded to seven, after <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/aerospaceglobalnews.com\/news\/us-air-force-kc-135-tanker-crash-iraq\/\">two KC-135s were damaged in what appears to be a midair collision<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>One of those aircraft crashed, and the US has since confirmed that all six crewmembers have perished.<\/p>\n<p>However, the US Air Force isn\u2019t short of KC-135s. It operates a huge fleet of 376, plus another 100 or so <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/aerospaceglobalnews.com\/tag\/kc-46a-pegasus\/\">KC-46A Pegasus,<\/a><\/strong> based on the Boeing 767. Supporting those are dozens of MC-130J tankers.<\/p>\n<p>The extent of the damage to the aircraft at Prince Sultan isn\u2019t known, but as a repair is underway, it can be assumed it\u2019s not catastrophic.<\/p>\n<p>The KC-135s might not be missed in terms of fleet capabilities.
