Foreign backed riots in Tehran were orchestrated in collaboration with Western intelligence agencies<\/p>\n
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organization says it has foiled a terrorist plot hatched by spy agencies of 10 foreign countries aimed at fueling chaos and threatening Iran\u2019s identity.<\/strong><\/p>\n In a statement on Monday, the IRGC said the terrorist incidents of recent weeks were part of a major US-Israeli plot to undermine Iran\u2019s integrity in terms of its geography and national identity.<\/p>\n \u201cThe enemy’s command room was formed immediately after the 12-day war with the participation of 10 hostile intelligence services,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n The IRGC intelligence arm said the plan was aimed at fomenting internal riots coupled with foreign intervention to pose an existential threat against the Islamic Republic.<\/p>\n It noted that the scheme was defeated thanks to the vigilance of Iranian security forces and the collaboration of the people.<\/p>\n According to the statement, the IRGC Intelligence Organization arrested 735 individuals affiliated with anti-security networks, summoned 11,000 vulnerable people, confiscated 743 unauthorized firearms, and identified 46 individuals linked to foreign services.<\/p>\n It said foreign political and security officials directly supported the enemy\u2019s measures, including the spread of violence and terrorists’ exploitation of public gatherings, the use of social media platforms to instigate violence, and the deployment of organized thugs and criminals as part of a plot to raise the number of fatalities among both people and security forces.<\/p>\n The statement said the IRGC intelligence arm seeks to infiltrate the communication networks of the rioters, dominate border terrorist networks, use deceived elements for counter-infiltration, and continue to identify and decisively confront networks that caused the riots.<\/p>\n Foreign-instigated riots in Iran escalated on January 8 and continued for several days, following peaceful protests in Iranian bazaars and markets where traders called for government action to halt the devaluation of the Iranian rial.<\/p>\n The violence, encouraged openly by the Israeli regime and US President Donald Trump, resulted in extensive damage to public and private property, with widespread destruction of shops, government institutions, public service facilities, and the killing of thousands of civilians, including women and children, as well as security forces.<\/p>\n Iranian authorities have confirmed that US and Israeli spy agencies were directly involved, providing funding, training, and media support to rioters and armed terrorists acting on the streets.<\/p>\n Iran\u2019s Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs later reported that 3,117 people died during the riots, including 2,427 civilians and security personnel, noting that many innocents were killed by organized terrorist elements.<\/p>\n
