{"id":322164,"date":"2026-01-25T10:00:44","date_gmt":"2026-01-25T10:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=322164"},"modified":"2026-01-27T07:46:36","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T07:46:36","slug":"minneapolis-shooting-witnesses-victims-family-reject-us-administrations-lies-about-killing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=322164","title":{"rendered":"Minneapolis shooting witnesses, victim\u2019s family reject US administration&#8217;s \u2018lies\u2019 about killing"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Press TV \u2013 Jan 25, 2025<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><strong>Eyewitnesses to a recent fatal shooting in the US city of Minneapolis and the family of the victim have challenged the federal account of the incident, saying the government is spreading \u201clies\u201d\u00a0about what happened.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, US law enforcement officers killed 37-year-old American citizen Alex Pretti, a registered nurse working in the intensive care unit at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System, which serves veterans.<\/p>\n<p>It was the\u00a0second\u00a0fatal\u00a0shooting\u00a0this month involving federal agents in Minneapolis during the aggressive immigration crackdown by the administration of US President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>After the incident, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released an image of a firearm, which Trump claimed was \u201cthe gunman\u2019s gun\u201d in\u00a0a social media post.<\/p>\n<p>The victim had two magazines of ammunition and no ID, the DHS further alleged. Border Patrol officers attempted to disarm the armed man who had approached them, and an agent fired defensive shots when he \u201cviolently resisted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Border Patrol Commander-at-Large Gregory Bovino claimed that the victim was trying \u201cto do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other US officials labeled Pretti a \u201cdomestic terrorist,\u201d without providing any evidence.<\/p>\n<p>Pretti\u2019s parents, however, denounced the Trump administration\u2019s \u201csickening lies\u201d about their son and rejected its account of how the shooting unfolded.<\/p>\n<p>They said in a statement that videos showed their son was not holding a gun when he was tackled by federal agents. Instead, they added, Alex was holding his phone with one hand and using the other to shield a woman who was being pepper-sprayed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump\u2019s murdering and cowardly ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) thugs. The man did not approach the agents with a gun. He approached them with a camera,\u201d the witness emphasized.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t see him touch any of them\u2013he wasn\u2019t even turned toward them. It didn\u2019t look like he was trying to resist, just trying to help the woman up.
