Trump should be very careful here. No doubt at the instigation of the Israelis, he’s getting himself into a bind by demanding that Iran limit the range of its missiles to 500km or less.<\/p>\n

If implemented, this would put Israel beyond the reach of Iranian missiles. This is probably the reason behind the U.S.demand, which may even have been dictated by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.<\/p>\n

However, It should be obvious that Iran is not going to comply and this leaves the president with few options. Either Trump backs down, and looses face entirely before the watching world.<\/p>\n

For a braggadocio like Donald Trump this seems unlikely.<\/p>\n

This leaves the U.S. president with only plausible option: more strikes on Iran.<\/p>\n

So at the behest of his Israeli allies, Trump has got himself into a position where he has little option but to go to war. Crucially, in contrast to the 12-Day War, the U.S. and Israel have now lost the element of surprise.<\/p>\n

This is why President Pezeshkian and other Iranian politicians<\/a> are signaling to Trump to back off<\/a>. They know that Iran has more to defend itself with and if conflict does erupt it could be much more destructive than the 12-Day War. Ed<\/p>\n

Iran\u2019s president reacts to Trump\u2019s threat, vows \u2018severe\u2019 response to \u2018oppressive\u2019 aggression<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has issued a firm rebuttal to Donald Trump\u2019s latest threat of renewed strikes against the country, vowing that any further aggression will be met with a crushing and “regret-inducing” response.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe response of the Islamic Republic of Iran to any oppressive aggression will be severe and regret-inducing,\u201d President Pezeshkian wrote in a message on the X social media platform.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Florida on Monday, Trump threatened to “eradicate” any attempt by Tehran to advance its nuclear program or bolster its ballistic missile capabilities.<\/p>\n

“I hope they’re not trying to build up again because if they are, we’re going to have no choice but very quickly to eradicate that buildup,” Trump claimed, adding that a future US\u00a0assault “may be more powerful than the last time.”<\/p>\n

This\u00a0marked the first time Trump has explicitly threatened military action against Iran\u2019s conventional missile program, a cornerstone of the country’s defensive doctrine.<\/p>\n

The US joined the\u00a0Israeli military aggression against Iran in June, striking three nuclear sites in the country.<\/p>\n

Trump attempted to justify the aggression\u00a0by repeating unverified claims that Iran could develop nuclear weapons within two months.<\/p>\n

These assertions fly in the face of repeated confirmations from the IAEA and Iranian officials that the nation\u2019s nuclear program is\u00a0peaceful and intended for energy and medical advancement.<\/p>\n

\u2018Missile capability not containable\u2019<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Separately, Ali Shamkhani, a political adviser to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, warned on Monday that any miscalculation by the aggressors would trigger an “immediate harsh response.”<\/p>\n

“Iran’s #Missile_Capability and defense are not containable or permission-based. Any aggression will face an immediate #Harsh_Response beyond its planners’ imagination,” Shamkhani wrote on X.<\/p>\n

For decades, the Islamic Republic has emphasized that its missile program is strictly deterrent and essential for protecting its people in a region saturated with American military bases and Western-backed occupation.<\/p>\n

Tehran has categorically rejected recent demands by Western powers to limit the range of its missiles to 500 kilometers, noting that such restrictions would leave the country defenseless against long-range threats.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Tehran has dismissed Trump\u2019s demands to dismantle its nuclear infrastructure, calling them a violation of the NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty).<\/p>\n

Instead, Iranian officials have called on Washington to end its complicity in Israeli atrocities and to abandon its policy of “maximum pressure\u201d against the country.<\/p>\n

Russia on Tuesday also reacted to Trump\u2019s threat, urging all parties to refrain from escalation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe that it is necessary to refrain from any steps that could escalate tensions in the region, and we believe that, first and foremost, dialogue with Iran is necessary,\u201d Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.<\/p>\n
