It is not a \u2018harmless left wing slogan.\u2019 It is a call to blame\u200a\u2014\u200aand kill\u200a\u2014\u200aJews who have nothing, absolutely nothing to do with the actions of the Israeli government.\u201d<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n~ <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/marwilliamson\/status\/2000289830740070824\">Spiritual guru and former US presidential candidate Marianne Williamson<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">&#8220;It is obscene how quickly the right has seized on this horror to advance an Islamophobic, anti-Palestinian agenda. And it is disgusting to see Israel\u2019s politicians almost gleeful at the opportunity to distract from their genocidal onslaught in Gaza&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/fuA6QfBowr\">https:\/\/t.co\/fuA6QfBowr<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Nick Riemer (@NickRiemer1) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NickRiemer1\/status\/2000869047244874088?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 16, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Of course, these outlets and individuals do not actually care about the phrase \u201cglobalize the intifada\u201d. If pro-Palestine activists had never chanted that slogan, pro-Israel spinmeisters would be focusing on a different line today. They are not trying to stop chants which they perceive as dangerous, they are trying to stomp out criticism of Israel\u2019s genocidal atrocities.<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/theintercept.com\/2025\/12\/15\/nyt-bret-stephens-bondi-beach-shooting\/\">The Intercept\u2019s Natasha Lennard wrote<\/a> regarding the aforementioned Bret Stephens piece, \u201cIt\u2019s all done in the name of fighting antisemitism by conflating the worst kinds of violent anti-Jewish bigotry, like what we saw in Bondi Beach, with any criticisms of Israel and its actions. To so much as say Palestinians ought to have basic human rights, in this view, becomes a deadly attack on Jewish safety.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The term \u201cintifada\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/mondoweiss.net\/2025\/10\/what-does-globalize-the-intifada-mean\/\">means to \u201cshake off\u201d and \u201crise up\u201d<\/a>, and as Middle East Eye\u2019s Craig Birckhead-Morton and Yasmin Zainab Bergemann <a href=\"https:\/\/www.middleeasteye.net\/opinion\/us-campus-protests-yale-gaza-globalising-intifada\">explained last year<\/a>, intifadas have historically included nonviolent resistance. Saying \u201cglobalize the intifada\u201d isn\u2019t calling for people to massacre Jewish civilians around the world, it\u2019s advocating resistance to the power structure which incinerated Gaza and continues to inflict abuse upon Palestinians and any other population which doesn\u2019t bow to the interests of the empire.<\/p>\n<p>And the people scaremongering about this phrase know this. They\u2019re fully aware that they\u2019re using a tragic mass shooting as a political cudgel against people who believe Palestinians are human beings. This is just one more cynical manipulation aimed at protecting Israel from criticism so that it can inflict more violence and suffering upon the world.<\/p>\n<p>As Em Hilton <a href=\"https:\/\/www.972mag.com\/bondi-massacre-australia-jews-antisemitism\/\">wrote for the Israeli outlet +972<\/a>, \u201cIt is obscene how quickly the right has seized on this horror to advance an Islamophobic, anti-Palestinian agenda.
