Israeli jets strike residential buildings in south west Gaza City<\/p>\n
The Israeli regime’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has ordered the military to carry out immediate\u00a0“powerful” strikes on Gaza as Israel\u00a0continues to violate the ceasefire agreement\u00a0in the besieged territory.\u00a0The regime has broken the ceasefire over 125 times in the past few weeks.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cFollowing security consultations, Prime Minister Netanyahu instructed the military to immediately carry out powerful strikes in the Gaza Strip,\u201d a statement from his office said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n The Israeli regime said it was in response to what it called Hamas\u2019s ceasefire violations by not handing over the bodies of the remaining 13 captives that are still inside Gaza.<\/p>\n In a statement issued late Tuesday,\u00a0Hamas condemned\u00a0Israel of \u201csystematically obstructing\u201d efforts to recover the bodies of its own soldiers in Gaza, saying it refused entry to joint Red Cross\u2013resistance teams to several areas, and blocked heavy equipment needed for the searches.<\/p>\n \u201cThe occupation\u2019s claims that the resistance is delaying the process are baseless,\u201d Hamas said, warning Israel is \u201cfabricating false pretexts\u201d to justify new aggression in violation of the ceasefire.<\/p>\n A US official told Israel that Washington does not see any violation of the agreement by Hamas that would warrant a response, urging Israel not to take radical measures that could lead to the collapse of the ceasefire agreement.<\/p>\n Bombings have already been reported in parts of southern Gaza.<\/p>\n In response to the statement issued by Netanyahu\u2019s office and the breach of the ceasefire, Hamas said, “The Zionist occupation continues its systematic policy of obstructing efforts to locate the bodies of its soldiers inside the Gaza Strip.”<\/p>\n It added that Israel has\u00a0“explicitly refused to allow joint teams from the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Palestinian resistance to enter several areas in Gaza to carry out this humanitarian mission.”<\/p>\n The\u00a0movement stated\u00a0Israel’s claims that “the resistance is delaying this process are baseless and intended to mislead public opinion. It is fabricating false pretexts as a prelude to launching new aggressive steps against our people, in flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement.”<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Hamas\u2019s military wing has announced that it will postpone the handover of the Israeli captive\u2019s body that it found earlier today \u201cdue to violations\u201d by Israel.<\/p>\n In a statement, the Qassam Brigades stressed that any Israeli escalation \u201cwill hinder search, digging, and retrieval operations of the bodies, which will lead to a delay in recovering the bodies\u201d of the dead captives.<\/p>\n Hamas called on mediators to \u201ccompel the occupation to halt its deception\u201d and allow humanitarian work to proceed.<\/p>\n “We call on the mediators and guarantor parties to assume their responsibilities, confront these dangerous obstructions, compel the occupation to halt its deception, and allow the relevant teams to carry out their humanitarian duties free from political or hostile interference.”<\/p>\n The development comes after Netanyahu said Israel would respond after Hamas handed over human remains that, he claimed, did not belong to the missing captives.<\/p>\n He added that the remains handed over overnight were of a captive whose body, he said, Israeli forces had already recovered earlier during their aggression in Gaza.<\/p>\n Since the beginning of the current truce between Israel and Hamas, Netanyahu has been carrying out provocative acts meant to strain the ceasefire agreement.<\/p>\n Gaza\u2019s Government Media Office has accused Israel of committing 125 violations\u00a0of the ceasefire,\u00a0including killing 94 Palestinians, since the agreement came into effect on October 10.<\/p>\n Hamas stated that, for a period of time, the movement requires\u00a0assistance on the ground in the form of specialized teams and heavy machinery.<\/p>\n Mohammad al-Hindi, deputy secretary general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, in a recent interview warned that the Israeli regime was \u201cblackmailing, stalling, and manipulating\u201d the recently agreed ceasefire deal with Palestinian resistance factions in Gaza.<\/p>\n Israel was \u201cmanipulating the pretext of bodies to justify renewed aggression\u201d in Gaza, he stated.<\/p>\n During Israel\u2019s two-year-long genocidal war on the besieged strip, the occupying regime killed at least 68,527 Palestinians and wounded 170,395 others, before a ceasefire agreement was reached in Gaza earlier this month.<\/p>\n
