Israel\u2019s far-right minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, has made yet another shocking remark, saying that the regime\u2019s forces should shoot \u201cchildren and donkeys\u201d near a ceasefire demarcation zone known as the \u201cyellow line.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

During a meeting of Israel\u2019s “security cabinet”, the military\u2019s deputy chief of staff reportedly said that Israeli\u00a0forces were instructed to open fire on Palestinians who crossed the line, but to arrest children if they were found near it.<\/p>\n

In response, Ben-Gvir\u00a0said Israel \u201cmust stop being merciful\u201d and start shooting \u201ca child riding a donkey\u201d near the so-called yellow line. Knesset member Dudi Amsalem\u00a0then asked, \u201cWho should we shoot first \u2014 the child or the donkey?\u201d<\/p>\n

Minister of military affairs Israel Katz\u00a0reportedly closed the discussion by saying, \u201cAnyone who approaches the fence should know they may be harmed.\u201d<\/p>\n

The so-called \u201cyellow line,\u201d established\u00a0under US President Donald Trump\u2019s\u00a020-point Gaza plan, runs from northern Gaza to the outskirts of Rafah\u00a0in the south.<\/p>\n

According to Gaza officials, Israeli forces directly open fire on any Palestinian crossing or even approaching the line, without prior warning. The boundary is not visibly marked, leaving civilians at constant risk of being shot for unknowingly entering an undefined restricted area.<\/p>\n

The regime’s forces have reportedly installed yellow concrete markers every 200 meters to delineate areas remaining under the military’s control during the first phase of the ceasefire.<\/p>\n

But officials in Gaza say the vast debris left by months of Israeli bombardment has made it nearly impossible for residents to navigate safely or avoid the newly marked boundary.<\/p>\n

Two weeks into Trump’s ceasefire, which took effect on October 10,\u00a0an average of more than 20 Palestinians\u00a0are still being killed each day\u2014many near the yellow line, according to Gaza health officials.<\/p>\n

Despite the truce deal, Israeli forces continue to occupy more than half of the Gaza Strip, including areas in the north and center, as well as parts of Rafah\u00a0and the Salah al-Din corridor.<\/p>\n

The so-called yellow line, which cuts Gaza roughly in half, is increasingly taking on a more permanent form and is being referred to in Israeli media as a \u201cnew border.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jeremy Konyndyk, president of Refugees International\u00a0and a former US aid official, described the line as \u201ca de facto creeping annexation of Gaza.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last week, the Gaza Government Media Office said\u00a0that\u00a0Israeli forces started to clear residents from all eastern neighborhoods, warning that the measure is \u201ccreating a new and dangerous reality on the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n

Under Trump’s plan, Israel\u2019s withdrawal to the yellow line would leave the regime occupying 53 percent\u00a0of the territory.<\/p>\n

A BBC\u00a0satellite analysis of the new yellow markers indicated they were placed several hundred meters beyond the proposed boundary,\u00a0representing a further substantial land grab.<\/p>\n
