The linked extracts below from early Christian teaching were excised from the bible after the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD. The Council was convened to decide what would constitute the new Church of Rome\u2019s version of \u2018Christianity.<\/p>\n<p>Careful study of the Essene&#8217; teaching reveals a big emphasis on fasting and vegetarianism and it was probably decided to omit them from the gospel as they was not big draw cards for new converts.
