Israeli media have acknowledged the occupying regime\u2019s \u201chidden defeat\u201d in the two-year war against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, debunking as a \u201cdeceptive trap\u201d Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu\u2019s claims about victory in the besieged coastal territory.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth<\/em> detailed in a report on Tuesday the various aspects of the Israeli aggression on Gaza and the aftermath of the regime\u2019s devastating war despite Netanyahu\u2019s boasts of achievements and triumph over the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas since October 7, 2023.<\/p>\n

The paper\u00a0said two years after the day that \u201cchanged Israel’s history forever, the dust \u2026 seems not to have settled,\u201d and\u00a0\u201cafter tough stories and security lessons, which came too late, though on time, it is time to talk about a hidden defeat, a cognitive defeat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Underscoring Hamas\u2019s success in breaching Israel\u2019s stringent security measures on October 7, the paper rebuked as a \u201cdeceptive trap\u201d any attempts by the regime\u2019s prime minister and top echelon to feign victory against the Palestinian resistance and its surprise attack.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe human ability to tell ourselves stories and believe them, even when they contradict reality, is pleasant, but in fact, it is a deceptive trap. Doubt reached its peak when the security force, which we thought was invincible, was caught off guard and dealt a devastating blow,\u201d Yedioth Ahronoth <\/em>wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn such circumstances, stories speak for themselves. When it’s difficult to understand how something happened, we look for a story that takes control of the situation – even if it’s far from the truth. This is precisely why two years later, no one knows the truth, but everyone is sure about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Israeli newspaper revealed details about the Gaza peace agreement brokered by Egypt and the US on September 29, saying Netanyahu set key conditions but made “major concessions” and hid the truth from the public.<\/p>\n

According to the paper, the basic conditions set by the Israeli prime minister to end the war in Gaza ensured what it described as \u201ca complete surrender to Hamas.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Yedioth Ahronoth<\/em> reported\u00a0\u201cHamas was not disarmed, Gaza was not demilitarized, and the territory was not cleared,\u201d based on documents that were reviewed.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf these conditions were essential, why did Netanyahu give them up?\u201d the paper asked, adding, \u201cThe public deserves honest answers to the key remaining questions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Hebrew newspaper also cited an Israeli intelligence source as saying, \u201cThe agreement is considered successful, but the concessions are extremely deep.\u201d<\/p>\n

The ceasefire, which came to pass on Friday, followed days of intensive negotiations in Egypt as part of broader understandings that include a abductee\/prisoner exchange and arrangements to reopen border crossings and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n

Under the agreement, the Israeli occupation army would halt fighting and partially withdraw from the Gaza Strip. At the same time, Hamas would release all remaining detainees in exchange for Israel freeing more than 2,000 Palestinian detainees<\/p>\n

During Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, nearly\u00a068,000 Palestinians were killed and 170,134 wounded, most of them women and children<\/p>\n

Following the ceasefire\u2019s implementation, the number of casualties has continued to rise sharply as more bodies trapped under rubble are being recovered.<\/p>\n

Experts believe the actual death toll could multiply exponentially once the dead bodies buried beneath the debris are counted.<\/p>\n
