{"id":316754,"date":"2025-10-14T06:24:58","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T06:24:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=316754"},"modified":"2025-10-16T05:51:30","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T05:51:30","slug":"caitlin-johnstone-israelis-openly-plan-to-resume-attacks-on-gaza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=316754","title":{"rendered":"Caitlin Johnstone: Israelis Openly Plan to Resume Attacks on Gaza"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Caitlin Johnstone \u2013 Consortium News Oct 13, 2025<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><strong>I<\/strong>srael\u2019s top officials are openly declaring that they intend to terminate the Gaza ceasefire after they get their hostages back.<\/p>\n<p>Defense Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/2025\/10\/13\/caitlin-johnstone-israelis-openly-plan-to-resume-attacks-on-gaza\/\">Israel Katz<\/a> (pictured above) has <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Israel_katz\/status\/1977253298580160601\">posted a tweet<\/a> in Hebrew which machine translates as follows:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201cIsrael\u2019s great challenge after the phase of returning the hostages will be the destruction of all of Hamas\u2019s terror tunnels in Gaza, directly by the IDF and through the international mechanism to be established under the leadership and supervision of the United States. This is the primary significance of implementing the agreed-upon principle of demilitarizing Gaza and neutralizing Hamas of its weapons. I have instructed the IDF to prepare for carrying out the mission.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hamas <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DropSiteNews\/status\/1977449653818859928\">has not agreed<\/a> to any demilitarization or destruction of its tunnels. There is no way to demilitarize Gaza and neutralize Hamas of its weapons against their will without continued warfare, something Israel has demonstrated it cannot do without killing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/ng-interactive\/2025\/aug\/21\/revealed-israeli-militarys-own-data-indicates-civilian-death-rate-of-83-in-gaza-war\">shocking numbers of civilians<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">This is Israel&#8217;s defence minister declaring that Israel will resume its military onslaught against Gaza once the Israeli hostages are returned. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/JWbD3VloDa\">https:\/\/t.co\/JWbD3VloDa<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/wvQkW3gwWL\">pic.twitter.com\/wvQkW3gwWL<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Owen Jones (@owenjonesjourno) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/owenjonesjourno\/status\/1977450200215224606?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 12, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Katz\u2019s comments echo the public statements of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2025\/oct\/10\/what-does-gaza-deal-hamas-mean-for-benjamin-netanyahu-future\">who said<\/a> in a televised speech on Friday that \u201cHamas will be disarmed and Gaza will be demilitarized,\u201d and that if Hamas doesn\u2019t disarm voluntarily then \u201cit will be achieved the hard way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In another statement Netanyahu said, \u201cWe have achieved tremendous victories but the campaign is not over; part of our enemies are trying to recover.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Israeli outlet <em>YNet<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ynet.co.il\/news\/article\/bkv00qbt6el\">reports<\/a> that Israel is planning to resume its blockade and prevent reconstruction if all the bodies of the deceased captives are not returned, when Israel already knows that Hamas probably won\u2019t be able to locate all the bodies of deceased Israeli captives due to the intensity of the Israeli bombing campaign over the last two years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf Hamas does not cooperate with the return process, and Israel suspects that it is deliberately hiding the bodies in order to preserve them as a bargaining chip, it is expected to impose a series of sanctions on it \u2014 including preventing the reconstruction of the Strip, the entry of caravans, the opening of bakeries and the entry of civilian equipment,\u201d <em>Ynet<\/em> reports.<\/p>\n<p>In a recent article titled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2025\/10\/08\/middleeast\/israel-hamas-dead-hostages-return-intl\">Israel assesses Hamas may not be able to return all remaining dead hostages<\/a>,\u201d CNN reports that \u201cSources say the Israeli government is aware that Hamas may not know the location of, or is unable to retrieve, the remains of some of the 28 remaining deceased hostages.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/academic_la\/status\/1977463642368131096\">noted<\/a> by Shaiel Ben-Ephraim, these two pieces of information would seem to indicate that Israel is planning to use the unreturned bodies as a pretext to break the ceasefire<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Reporter: Netanyahu has not said that the war is over yet.<\/p>\n<p>Trump: The war is OVER! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9EhSvFOocT\">pic.twitter.com\/9EhSvFOocT<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Clash Report (@clashreport) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/clashreport\/status\/1977480476911611949?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 12, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>It is perhaps somewhat noteworthy that Israel\u2019s open preparations to resume the onslaught in Gaza directly contradict the statements of the president of the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Asked by the press about Netanyahu\u2019s refusal to say that the \u201cwar\u201d in Gaza is over, Trump forcefully stated, \u201cThe war is over. The war is over, okay? You understand that?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DropSiteNews\/status\/1977528193780162727\">suggested<\/a> (without stating outright) that he has received \u201cverbal guarantees\u201d from Israel that the violence will not resume.<\/p>\n<p>So here we have Israeli officials openly and explicitly saying that the attacks on Gaza have not ended, and the U.S. president saying that they have.
