{"id":315285,"date":"2025-09-15T07:37:02","date_gmt":"2025-09-15T07:37:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=315285"},"modified":"2025-09-17T07:40:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T07:40:11","slug":"genocide-questions-avoided-as-starmer-meets-israeli-president","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=315285","title":{"rendered":"Genocide questions avoided as Starmer meets Israeli president"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Phil Miller, Martin Williams and Alex Morris \u2013 Declassified UK Sept 11, 2025<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Prime minister Keir Starmer avoided questions from <em>Declassified<\/em> as he welcomed Israel\u2019s president to Downing Street yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Isaac Herzog was greeted outside Number 10, where he was said to be on a mission to stop the UK from recognising a Palestinian state.<\/p>\n<p>Calling out from the press pen opposite, <em>Declassified<\/em> asked Herzog: \u201cAre you a war criminal? Are you presiding over genocide in Gaza?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As he stood on the steps of Downing Street with Keir Starmer, we asked the prime minister: \u201cWhy are you shaking hands with a man who said there are no innocents in Gaza? Are you complicit in genocide?\u201d<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MzR6FGOjsrg?si=UMOH6TWt3avRoeUs\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n&#8212;<\/div>\n<p>The question referred to comments made by Herzog after the October 7 attack, in which he advocated collective punishment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an entire nation out there that is responsible,\u201d he said of Palestinians living in Gaza. \u201cThis rhetoric about civilians not aware, not involved, it\u2019s absolutely not true.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey could\u2019ve risen up, they could have fought against that evil regime\u201d. Herzog added: \u201cWe will fight until we break their backbone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His words were used as evidence against Israel in the genocide case at the International Court of Justice. He has also hand signed bombs before they were dropped on Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>Starmer\u2019s meeting with Herzog came just a day after Israel bombed Qatar and amid airstrikes on journalists in Yemen.<\/p>\n<p>But both Starmer and Herzog ignored our questions and entered Number 10 after a brief handshake at the door.<\/p>\n<p>The visit was condemned by professor Avi Shlaim, an Israeli historian at Oxford University, who told <em>Declassified <\/em>it was \u201ctotally inappropriate for Keir Starmer to meet with the Israeli president at a time when Israel is perpetrating genocide in Gaza\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Israel\u2019s ambassador Tzipi Hotevely also attended the meeting. As she walked up to Number 10 we asked: \u201cWhy did you justify bombing hospitals in Gaza?
