{"id":313910,"date":"2025-08-19T06:40:11","date_gmt":"2025-08-19T06:40:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=313910"},"modified":"2025-08-20T07:57:22","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T07:57:22","slug":"wef-clears-founder-schwab-of-wrongdoing-appoints-interim-co-chairs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=313910","title":{"rendered":"WEF clears founder Schwab of wrongdoing; appoints interim co-chairs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Larry Fink the new headof the World Economic Forum<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Mrinmay Dey \u2013 Reuters Aug 15, 2025<\/strong><\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>World Economic Forum clears founder Klaus Schwab of &#8216;material wrongdoing&#8217; after probe<\/li>\n<li>Larry Fink and Andre Hoffmann named interim co-chairs of WEF<\/li>\n<li>Whistleblower letter had alleged misconduct<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Aug 15 (Reuters) &#8211; The World Economic Forum closed an investigation on its founder Klaus Schwab on Friday, clearing him of any wrongdoing, and appointed BlackRock CEO Larry Fink and Roche Holding&#8217;s vice-chair Andre Hoffmann as interim co-chairs of its board.<\/p>\n<p>The Geneva-based organisation had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/world-economic-forum-launches-probe-into-founder-klaus-schwab-over-whistleblower-2025-04-22\/\">launched<\/a> an investigation in April into 87-year-old Schwab following a whistleblower letter alleging misconduct.<\/p>\n<p>The probe was announced a day after Schwab <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/davos-meeting-founder-klaus-schwab-steps-down-world-economic-forum-chair-2025-04-21\/\">resigned<\/a> as chairman. The forum at that time did not say why he was quitting.<\/p>\n<p>For decades, Schwab has been the face of the WEF&#8217;s annual gathering of business and political leaders in the Swiss mountain resort of Davos, which has become a symbol of globalisation.<\/p>\n<p>The WEF said on Friday that its board had completed an investigation into allegations raised by anonymous whistleblowers against Schwab and found there was no evidence of material wrongdoing by him.<\/p>\n<p>WEF also did not find any misconduct by Schwab&#8217;s wife and former assistant, Hilde Schwab.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Minor irregularities, stemming from blurred lines between personal contributions and forum operations, reflect deep commitment rather than intent of misconduct,&#8221; WEF said.<\/p>\n<p>The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the probe in April, had said an anonymous letter raised concerns about the WEF&#8217;s governance and workplace culture, including allegations that the Schwab family mixed their personal affairs with the forum&#8217;s resources without proper oversight.<\/p>\n<p>In May, a spokesperson for Schwab informed Reuters that he had filed a criminal complaint against the whistleblowers.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_279895\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?attachment_id=279895\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-279895\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-279895\" class=\"wpa-warning wpa-image-missing-alt size-medium wp-image-279895\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/klaus-678x381.jpg-300x169.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" data-warning=\"Missing alt text\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-279895\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">At the height of power in 2024, Klaus Schwab as WEF CEO. Click to enlarge<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Schwab family denied all the allegations in the whistleblower complaint to the Journal.<\/p>\n<p>Following the conclusion of the probe, a spokesman for Schwab told WSJ on Friday that he intends to drop his lawsuits and a separate legal action against anonymous whistleblowers.<\/p>\n<p>The WEF also said Peter Brabeck had stepped down as interim chairman following the investigation\u2019s conclusion.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement posted on the WEF website, newly appointed co-chairs Fink and Hoffman said they were honored to take on the leadership role on an interim basis and looked forward to reinventing and strengthening the organisation.<\/p>\n<p>WEF&#8217;s Davos gathering has in recent years drawn criticism from opponents on both left and right as an elitist talking shop detached from lives of ordinary people.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/wef-clears-founder-schwab-wrongdoing-appoints-interim-co-chairs-2025-08-15\/\">Source\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Only a few year ago World Economic Forum CEO, Klaus Schwab was telling presidents and prime ministers what to do.
