Introduction \u2013 Aug 16, 2025<\/strong><\/h1>\n

We shouldn\u2019t forget that one of the first \u201cColour Revolutions\u201d took place in Ukraine during the Orange Revolution in 2004. When mass protests erupted in Kiev following an alleged fraudulent election win by Viktor Yanukovych<\/a>, a pro-Russian candidate, over Viktor Yushchenko<\/a>, who was seen as more inclined to the West.<\/p>\n

Viktor Yushchenko won the revote and took over as prime minister from 2005 until 2010. However Yushchenko\u2019s Orange Revolution was also significant in that it marked the start of Ukraine\u2019s reorientation from a centuries old alignment with Russia toward closer ties with the West.<\/p>\n

This came to a head under Zelensky who took office and thereupon began to fast track plans to join NATO. While at the same time and with Western help Ukraine embarked on a massive expansion and modernization of its armed forces.<\/p>\n

So that by 2021 Ukraine had over one million, active, reserve and paramilitary personnel it could call upon. Plus it had also acquired or was in the process of acquiring new armour, military planes and missiles and naval assets from its new-found Western benefactors.<\/p>\n

To make matters worse for Putin, Zelensky remained adamant about plans to join NATO<\/a>. In effect, that would allow Russia\u2019s archenemy to deploy missiles right on its very doorstep; just as Russia had done in Cuba during the 1963 missile crisis.<\/p>\n

As far as Moscow was concerned it was a recipe for disaster and that\u2019s why it acted as it did.<\/p>\n

Now with more than one million dead, mostly Ukrainian, and the country in ruins Trump and Putin are trying to negotiate a settlement to a conflict that has its roots in the 2004 Orange Revolution.<\/p>\n

However, as peace becomes a faint possibility in Ukraine, other colour revolutions are suddenly breaking out. In recent days and weeks Hungary, Serbia and Slovakia \u2013 all three predominantly Slavic countries with strong cultural and historical ties to Russia \u2013 have seen protests erupt with a strong resemblance to Ukraine\u2019s Orange Revolution.<\/p>\n

Is history repeating itself before our eyes?<\/p>\n

From Moscow\u2019s perspective this will seem more than a coincidence.<\/p>\n

Finally we believe that it is a mistake to see the drive to support a \u201cdemocratic\u201d Ukraine as a purely European initiative. Trump is just playing a more deceptive game here. Just as he was when the U.S. pledged to continue negotiations with Iran prior to the June 13, 2025, strikes.<\/p>\n

Then he lured the Iranians into dropping their guard momentarily in the mistaken belief that as they were in the midst of negotiations with the U.S. they would be immune from attack.<\/p>\n

Thereby giving Israel the brief window of opportunity to launch its June 13 strikes.<\/p>\n

Has something similar occurred with the Trump\/Putin meeting in Alaska? Is Trump feigning the idea that he\u2019s lost interest in supporting Ukraine against Russia? Even as the U.S. continues to sell arms to its NATO allies, which are then sold on to Ukraine, and unknown agents fan the flames of further colour revolutions among Moscow\u2019s European allies. Hungarian, Slovak, and Serb Foreign Ministers Confer on EU Interference<\/strong><\/h1>\n

As EU elites become increasingly frustrated over Europe losing its global relevance under their leadership, \u201cthe pressure is mounting on pro-peace governments that pursue national interests and refuse to bow to Brussels,\u201d Hungarian Foreign Minister P\u00e9ter Szijj\u00e1rt\u00f3 said in a statement<\/a> on Thursday, the night before the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska, to which the EU was not invited.<\/p>\n

According to the FM, the violent anti-government riots in Serbia<\/a>, the EU\u2019s open support for the Hungarian opposition<\/a>, as well as recent articles subtly calling for a \u201crevolution\u201d in Slovakia, are all \u201cpart of the same script written in Brussels, which wants to eliminate pro-peace, patriotic governments and replace them with puppets of the EU.\u201d<\/p>\n

Due to these increasingly obvious attempts of the EU elites to force government changes in Central Europe, Szijj\u00e1rt\u00f3 held a phone conference with Juraj Blan\u00e1r and Marko \u0110uri\u0107\u2014his Slovak and Serbian counterparts\u2014on Thursday, with all three agreeing that their countries will have to stand by national sovereignty and peace even more strongly.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, it is clearer than ever that increasingly aggressive attempts at destabilization, regime change, and external intervention are taking place in Central Europe against the patriotic Slovak, Hungarian, and Serbian governments,\u201d Szijj\u00e1rt\u00f3 said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe reaffirmed that we can count on each other\u2019s solidarity in all of this,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The sovereigntist Hungary and Slovakia are the only two EU governments that have been consistently opposed to the EU\u2019s unlimited military support for Ukraine in the past three years, arguing that isolating Russia will only prolong the suffering of Ukrainians and impoverish Europe.<\/p>\n

Instead, they have been calling for the same kind of diplomacy with which President Trump now has a chance to end the bloodshed, while Brussels has successfully maneuvered itself into geopolitical irrelevance.<\/p>\n

Serbia, on the other hand, is only an EU candidate country and has been waiting for approval since 2009. Despite being one of the earliest applicants among those currently in the queue, the EU has been blocking its accession process for years, blaming the alleged rule of law violations of the sovereigntist Vu\u010di\u0107 administration.<\/p>\n

Most recently, the months-long series of anti-government protests in Serbia has escalated into violent riots<\/a> across multiple Serbian cities, resulting in at least 60 people seriously wounded. Vu\u010di\u0107 described Wednesday\u2019s clashes as \u201cwell-organized attacks\u201d by agitators who want to provoke a \u201ccivil war\u201d and vowed to restore public order with whatever means necessary.<\/p>\n
