No one should stay silent when children die, or are brutally deprived of a future, wherever these children are, including in Gaza,\u201d Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General for the UN agency said in a statement on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The UNRWA chief\u00a0further highlighted that at least 17,000 children were left unaccompanied and separated from their families, and\u00a0one million minors were\u00a0deeply traumatized and out of education due to Israeli aggression.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At least 100 children died of malnutrition and hunger,&#8221;\u00a0he added.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The latest in the war on children &amp; Over 40,000 children reported killed or injured due to bombardment &amp; airstrikes <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UNICEF?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@UNICEF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; At least 17,000 unaccompanied and\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/QXeZB1byVc\">pic.twitter.com\/QXeZB1byVc<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Philippe Lazzarini (@UNLazzarini) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UNLazzarini\/status\/1955588756704055755?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 13, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>In\u00a0recent months Lazzarini has repeatedly warned that the Gaza Strip has\u00a0become a \u201cgraveyard\u201d for children.<\/p>\n<p>Since Tuesday, at least eight people, including three children, have starved to death in the territory, bringing the total count of hunger-related deaths to 235, including 106 children, the Gaza Health\u00a0Ministry said.<\/p>\n<p>At least 123 Palestinians, including 21 aid seekers, were\u00a0killed and 437 injured in Israeli attacks across the besieged strip\u00a0in the last 24 hours, the health ministry statement added.<\/p>\n<p>The total number of aid seekers killed since May 27, when Israel introduced a new aid distribution mechanism through the US-based\u00a0Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), has reached 1,859, with more than 13,594 injured.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly 170 non-governmental organizations have\u00a0called for the immediate discontinuation of the controversial Israel-US-backed\u00a0GHF.<\/p>\n<p>GHF has been tasked by the Israeli regime and the US government to &#8220;distribute aid&#8221;
