Donald Trump<\/a> and Jeffrey Epstein<\/a> were \u201cbest friends\u201d who were \u201cup to no good,\u201d <\/a>a model who dated the disgraced financier claims, as the president tries to distance himself from the Epstein case.<\/p>\n

They were \u201cbest friends,\u201d Stacey Williams,<\/a> who dated Epstein<\/a> for several months in the 90s, told CNN on Friday evening. Last October in an interview with The Guardian<\/em><\/a>,<\/em> Williams publicly accused Trump of groping her in Trump Tower<\/a> in 1993 in front of Epstein. He has denied these allegations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was his bro, that was his wingman,\u201d she said of Trump to Epstein.<\/p>\n

Throughout the four or five months she dated the financier, Trump\u2019s name came up a lot,<\/a> Williams recalled to CNN\u2019s Brianna Keilar. \u201cThe only friend that he would mention every time we saw each other or had a phone conversation was Donald,\u201d she said. \u201cThey were very close and they were up to no good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Williams later added that Epstein also often mentioned Ghislaine Maxwell<\/a>, a socialite and Epstein associate who was convicted in 2021 on charges related to her role in a scheme to abuse minor girls with the financier.<\/p>\n

The Independent <\/em>has reached out to the White House<\/a> for comment.<\/p>\n

Keilar read the alleged birthday card Trump wrote to Epstein for his 50th birthday<\/a> that the Wall Street Journal <\/em>first published<\/a> Thursday. Trump vehemently denied the allegations and has since sued the publication and its parent companies for defamation.<\/a><\/p>\n

Williams started laughing when Keilar walked through Trump\u2019s response to the bombshell report.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrump called that letter \u2018fake.\u2019 He said it was out of character for him because he never \u2018wrote a picture\u2019\u2026in his life,\u201d <\/a>Keilar said, quoting Trump\u2019s denial.<\/p>\n

Asked whether she believes this letter sounds \u201cout of character\u201d to her based on her experiences with both men, Williams replied incredulously: \u201cWhat, are you kidding me? I know what they were up to together. It happened to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have the post assault postcard with a love note,\u201d she added, referring to a postcard of an aerial view of Mar-a-Lago she says Trump sent to her agent later in 1993. In what appeared to be black Sharpie, according to The Guardian<\/em>, the card read: \u201cStacey \u2013 Your home away from home. Love Donald.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI know what they’re up to together and I know what that means,\u201d Williams told the network. \u201cIt’s very clear it wasn’t baking or fishing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Williams and Epstein started dating after the second time they met. It was at a 1992 Christmas Party at the Plaza Hotel that Trump threw, she recalled.<\/p>\n

Months later, she and Epstein were walking down Fifth Avenue. The financier \u201cwas joking about how Donald thought I was hot\u2026and wants to talk to you\u201d before suggesting they visit Trump at his office, she recalled.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo we went up to his office in Trump Tower and, within a couple of minutes, Donald was outside of his door and his hands were all over me. They were on my breasts, they were on my butt. They were on, you know, my hips up and down while the two of them just kept having a normal conversation,\u201d Williams told Keilar.<\/p>\n

They were discussing \u201cirrelevant\u201d things, such as how Williams was just featured on another cover of Sports Illustrated<\/em>, she said: \u201cThey were back and forth smiling and grinning and carrying on a conversation while Donald ran his hands all over me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Assistants were walking back and forth while the incident occurred, she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it happens in a dark alleyway, you defend yourself. But when it’s hidden in its brazenness like that, which is Donald Trump’s forte, you go into shock,\u201d Williams told the network. \u201cSo I froze and it was over very quickly. It was a few minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n

As she and Epstein got into an elevator to leave, she realized \u201cJeffrey’s energy had changed.\u201d Williams recalled: \u201cHe was, he was like seething, he was enraged. He wouldn\u2019t make eye contact with me.\u201d<\/p>\n

When they returned to Fifth Avenue, he blamed the incident on her. She remembered: \u201cHe looked at me and he just started yelling at me saying, \u2018Why did you let him do that?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

She had the same thought herself. \u201cI remember thinking like, \u2018Why did I?\u2019 I felt like I was coming back into my body at that moment and I was confused,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

When she first came forward with her assault accusations, Williams said she believed the incident was \u201ccoordinated\u201d between the two men.<\/p>\n

Pressed as to why what led her to that conclusion, she told the network that she was known in the industry to be \u201ccombative\u201d with people who would harass her on the street or expose themselves. \u201cJeffrey was aware of that and I think he was excited,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the gist in my mind, given what [Epstein] knew and the way it played out, was, \u2018Hey, I’m gonna deliver this person to you who’s actually not gonna let you get away with what you do.\u2019 And I did ’cause I froze,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s friendship with Epstein spanned the late 80s, 90s and early 2000s, and Trump\u2019s phone number \u2014 and First Lady Melania Trump\u2019s \u2014 were included in Epstein\u2019s infamous leaked address books. Trump\u2019s name also appeared seven times in passenger logs for Epstein\u2019s planes.<\/p>\n

The pair reportedly fell out in 2004, when Epstein and Trump both tried to buy a Palm Beach estate. The next year, the FBI began investigating Epstein for child sex trafficking. He pleaded guilty to a state charge of soliciting sex from a minor in 2008.<\/p>\n

Trump distanced himself from his former friend after Epstein\u2019s arrest in 2019, when Trump was president. He has previously denied the allegations made by Williams.<\/p>\n

Williams\u2019 comments come as the president tries to keep the Epstein case at an arm\u2019s length. Last week, the Justice Department announced it had found no evidence to support the existence of a so-called \u201cclient list.\u201d The department also said no \u201cfurther disclosure would be appropriate or warranted,\u201d months after it released \u201cPhase 1\u201d of the Epstein files in February and the attorney general said her team was reviewing a \u201ctruckload\u201d of information.<\/p>\n

The DOJ asked a court on Friday to unseal the grand jury transcripts in the Maxwell and Epstein cases. <\/a>The grand jury testimony is a small portion of the thousands of documents related to the Epstein investigation and criminal case.<\/p>\n
