Ed.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Report: Israel asked US to join military campaign against Iran, but US rejects request<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Nava Frieberg \u2013 Times of Israel June 14, 2025<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Israel has urged the United States over the past two days to join its newly launched military campaign against Iran, but the US is currently not considering such a move, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2025\/06\/14\/israel-iran-war-us-nuclear-program-trump\">reports Axios<\/a>, citing Israeli and American officials.<\/p>\n<p>In the past 48 hours, Israel asked US President Donald Trump\u2019s administration to join its attack against the Islamic Republic\u2019s nuclear and military sites, two Israeli officials told the news site.<\/p>\n<p>A US official confirmed Israel\u2019s request and said the Trump administration is not currently considering joining the conflict, the report reads.<\/p>\n<p>Israel seeks American assistance primarily to destroy Iran\u2019s underground Fordo uranium enrichment site, which may be beyond Israel\u2019s military capabilities to do alone, says the report.<\/p>\n<p>A senior White House official told Axios today that \u201cWhatever happens\u201d with Israel\u2019s strikes on Iran \u201ccannot be prevented\u2026But we have the ability to negotiate a successful peaceful resolution to this conflict if Iran is willing.
