The United States has reportedly deployed the second THAAD anti-missile defense battery to Israel as the regime\u2019s head, Benjamin Netanyahu, is set to meet with President Donald Trump in the White House this week.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Saudi Al-Hadath channel reported that the battery arrived in Israel on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Earlier, aircraft tracking sites reported the arrival of a US Air Force C-5M Super Galaxy cargo plane at Israel\u2019s Nevatim Air Base in the northern Negev desert. The aircraft, which flew in from Ramstein Air Base in Germany, has reportedly\u00a0delivered the THAAD battery.<\/p>\n

The US sent the first battery to Israel in October 2024 at the request of Tel Aviv.<\/p>\n

THAAD\u2014the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system\u2014is a mobile, high-altitude missile defense platform that can intercept ballistic missiles outside the atmosphere.<\/p>\n

The latest deployment, which comes amid rising regional tensions over Trump\u2019s threats of war against Iran, adds to the more than 50,000 tons of armaments and military equipment the United States\u00a0has supplied to Israel\u00a0since the start of Tel Aviv\u2019s genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, according to Israel\u2019s military.<\/p>\n

Iran has repeatedly said that Washington\u2019s deployment of the THAAD battery to Israel is part of its \u201cpsychological warfare.\u201d<\/p>\n

The deployment also comes as Netanyahu of Israel is set to meet with Trump at the White House on Monday,\u00a0the prime minister\u2019s office said late Saturday.<\/p>\n

It said that Netanyahu will discuss issues, including US tariffs on Israeli imports, Tel Aviv\u2019s war on Gaza, and the \u201cIranian threat\u201d with Trump.<\/p>\n

Trump threatened on March 30 to \u201cbomb\u201d Iran if Tehran does not make a deal over its nuclear program with Washington. Tehran said in response that the US president\u2019s open threat against the country is an affront to global peace and security.<\/p>\n
