{"id":303380,"date":"2025-02-11T07:16:15","date_gmt":"2025-02-11T07:16:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=303380"},"modified":"2025-02-13T06:03:06","modified_gmt":"2025-02-13T06:03:06","slug":"trump-says-palestinians-wont-have-right-of-return-in-gaza-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetruthseeker.co.uk\/?p=303380","title":{"rendered":"Trump Says Palestinians Won\u2019t Have Right of Return in Gaza Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Nick Wadhams \u2013 Bloomberg Feb 10, 2025<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>President Donald Trump said Palestinians won\u2019t have the right to return to the Gaza Strip under his plan to take control and rebuild the territory, according to interview excerpts released Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, they wouldn\u2019t, because they\u2019re going to have much better housing,\u201d Trump said in an interview with Fox News Channel\u2019s Bret Baier, when asked if Palestinians would have the right to return. \u201cIn other words, I\u2019m talking about building a permanent place for them because if they have to return now, it\u2019ll be years before you could ever \u2013 it\u2019s not habitable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The comments are all but certain to set off a fresh wave of anger from Palestinians, Arab leaders and others globally. Trump originally floated the idea of taking over the Gaza Strip in a news conference after a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week.<\/p>\n<p>Aides sought to downplay his plan, insisting Trump wasn\u2019t committing US troops to the region or promising American money for Gaza\u2019s reconstruction. Others have described it as a way of pressuring countries in the region, including Jordan and Egypt, to take in Palestinians. But Trump has reiterated his plan several times since then.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll build safe communities, a little bit away from where they are, where all of this danger is,\u201d Trump said. \u201cIn the meantime, I would own this.
