A top Iranian commander says the country has weapons that have not been unveiled\u00a0so far and are unknown to the enemies.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani made the remarks on Sunday as he was speaking about the ongoing military exercises conducted by the Armed Forces to display their prowess in the face of\u00a0threats.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have weapons that we have not spoken\u00a0about so far and the enemy has no information about them. Some of these weapons may be tested during the drills,\u201d he told reporters.<\/p>\n

He added that the Iranian Armed Forces have constantly held drills to improve their combat power in various fields and ensure the country’s defense readiness.<\/p>\n

Just as Iran monitors the enemies\u2019 moves, they also monitor the developments in the region and the Islamic Republic\u2019s military drills, Ashtiani noted.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe seek [to improve] peace, stability and tranquility in the region. Therefore, by conducting the exercises, we demonstrate our readiness,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He reiterated that all the developments in the region are under the surveillance and control of the Iranian Armed Forces.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will counter any excessive demands, deviations, and misconceptions that the enemies may have,\u201d the senior commander said.<\/p>\n

Ashtiani\u2019s remarks came on the same day that the Iranian military\u00a0launched new exercises\u00a0in the country’s western and northern air defense zones including\u00a0Fordow and Khondab which host\u00a0uranium enrichment and heavy water\u00a0facilities.<\/p>\n

The drills \u2013 dubbed Eqtedar\u00a0in Farsi – began in completely real battlefield environments, with\u00a0the air defense force of the Army playing a central role\u00a0under the command of the country’s integrated air defense network<\/p>\n

The exercises aim to evaluate the operational effectiveness and combat readiness of Iran’s air defense systems against potential enemy assaults.<\/p>\n

Earlier in January, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force also held a large-scale and specialized drill, codenamed Payambar-e-A\u2019azam (Great Prophet) 19, in Iran\u2019s western province of Kermanshah, as part of attempts to raise its combat preparedness and\u00a0confront potential security threats against the country.<\/p>\n
