After World War II, Denmark turned down a $100 million offer from President Harry Truman for the island.<\/p>\n<p>Acquiring the land would mark the largest expansion of American territory in history, topping the Louisiana Purchase.<\/p>\n<p>But\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/greenland-pm-seeks-independence-following-trump-acquisition-comments\">Greenland Prime Minister Mute Egede<\/a> said last week that the country\u00a0is not interested.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Greenland is ours,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We are\u00a0not for sale, and will never be for sale.
